The first month of 2012 finds Adam’s new single “Better Than I Know Myself” already making its appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, as we await the “official” radio add dates of January 23 (HAC) and January 30 (CHR). Hoping for much promo and excitement in the next few months as things build toward the release of Adam’s second album “Trespassing” on March 20. We should have a new tour to look forward to later this year as well! Enjoy the chat!

Happy New Year to all, hope 2012 brings us many happy Adam memories, not to mention great success for AFL himself and Sauli.
My oldest boy was home from college and when he gave me my present he said, “I really outdid myself this year mom, you’re gonna love it!” He was right – it was an Adam calendar (it came from HongKong, hah). The pictures are OK, but the best part of it all was the thought -All my family, except my 8 yr old daughter, make jokes about my adoration of Adam so that gift really spoke volumes and made me smile ear to ear!

  3. dcglam says:

OMG…. How sweet and adorable of your son, missdfyed!
I’m sure you will treasure this calendar well after 2012.

  4. Kradamour says:

Ah, missdfyed, congratulations! My family is still eye-rolling, even the son who went to two concerts with me and had a meet and greet in Paris (but he is too cool to tell me how much he enjoyed it) where he and Adam shared compliments on their hair styles…honestly, I think that part of it is just that we 29 year olds aren’t supposed to be new fans of anyone, even though it is acceptable to still like the older performers from our youth. I get the same eye rolls for Owl City and Romance on a Rocket Ship. Sigh. What can ya do… Razz

    Happy New Year everybody!

I would so so love to see and hear Adam sing at the Superbowl. It might even get me to watch!! I just have worries, ( I know, stop being a downer Mils) that he would get boo’d because he’s not viewed as “manly” enough for the Superbowl. Makeup, nail polish, jewelry. Ya know what I mean?

We love him. We support his differences and style. We ogle him and crave him. However. The average sports fan, I don’t think would go for that. Maybe I’m stereo-typing sports fans.

Unless, he went makeup free, wore a lot of traditional leather ( not glammy stuff ), and SINGS his face off, would he win over that crowd.

    IMHO.

Also, I humbly apologize for my downer posts yesterday. I don’t know what was going through my head….

How?. Why?. It is not fair. To other eyes.

I’m just lost in those eyes…

    This, Mils ^^^^
I have no worries here. Adam seems to ALWAYS (except for maybe one early on Wink) match his performance to his audience.
    He is the consummate professional!

Seriuosly, we have had “best of”lists galore, on Mj’s and here.

Maybe we need a new diversion. Is it even possible, but, dare we even try a “most gorgeous” list??

I nominate this for “best eyes.”

What else, we’ve done best hair. We’ve done best pants. Even best shoes, of sorts. Best shirt?

    Anybody? Beuler?

  12. luval says:

Thank you asifclueless, I will keep that in mind! I too would just be so proud to see Adam sing at the SuperBowl, but those thoughts did cross my mind also, mils. It might take alot of guts for him to do it, but just imagine the amazement of the crowd when he slays it, like we know he would!

  14. luval says:

Wonder what Pennyroyal will come up with for Adam’s birthday? And no new charity announced either. Although Adam has enough I think.

  15. Kradamour says:

Re Adam singing at SuperBowl. I don’t know anything about sports, but certainly peeps who are not redneck jocks watch this game?
Adam sang at a military base with no problems from the crowd. Why would the viewers of the SuperBowl be less open minded than the military?
As I said, I have no idea. Have never watched a sports game. (Kinda like Adam lol) Only speculating.

I e-mailed the twitition link to my straight brother and I won’t say exactly what he wrote but he was worried about the boo’s he might get. I had to tell him that once they heard the voice it would all change. The only thing is he would have to sing it EXACTLY note for note as it was written. People don’t like singers to change up the National Anthem for their own style. I think he changed the last note at the Steven Spielberg thing in 2009.

  18. nkd says:

Y’all are really giving sports fans a bad rap here. I truly believe the people in attendance, especially at the Super Bowl where BIG $$$ have been paid for tickets, will respond to any performers according to the performance given.
This is from a sports fan. There are a few of us here! Smile

  19. dcglam says:

Adam sang at a military base with no problems from the crowd. Why would the viewers of the SuperBowl be less open minded than the military?

Kradamour, I’m part of a huge sports family and feel the same way as you. As a matter of fact, out of the last 4 performers, 3 were former American Idol contestants…

  20. luval says:

Hi nkd…I’m somewhat of a sports fan too. It’s the alcohol…or I should say the overuse of it that sometimes gives peeps the wrong impression. I’ve been to many tailgate parties and some of these fans are a mess before the game begins. But like anything else, it’s the minority that ruin it sometimes. I think Adam would be fine as long as he doesn’t do any runs or change notes. Smile

    eta..or forget the lines! lol

  21. JOJOSIE says:

Singers who do the National Anthem don’t get booed, that would be unpatriotic, it’s the half time entertainment. Nickleback just got booed and they have a hit album and seem to be the kind of entertainment sports fans might like. Yes to Adam doing the anthem, but no to him doing any half time shows. Half time shows many times have bad sound systems and are simply another distraction to some fans. They come for the game not entertainment. Adam just tweeted a radio station and even that small blip excited some fans. Maybe we do need to get help, but I already feel like I’m already in group therapy here. Heh

    That’s an excellent point, luval.

Remember the incident with Justin Beiber? He didn’t perform, he was simply a spectator at a baseball game in a huge stadium. The camera found him in the crowd and projected him onto the jumbo tron. He was w-i-d-e-l-y booed!! I felt very sorry for him. There he sat, being booed, with a big smile on his face because what else could he do?

I agree with you luval. It only takes a few to spoil it for the majority.

  23. nkd says:

Forgetting the words is my only worry with Adam singing the NA at the Super Bowl. He’s done it beautifully before, but this is a very large stage, and there’s the nerves and all.

Was it last year that the Black Eyed Peas did the halftime? The sound was not good, at least on TV.

    Hi luval!

    Hi! Remember Rosanne Barr?

Of course, she was the exception to the rule and had some nerve to even attempt singing the National Anthem. I don’t know what she was doing but it certainly wasn’t “singing”. Smile

  25. nkd says:

I don’t boo anyone normally, but I may have booed Rosanne Barr. That was absolutely awful and turned disrespectful on her part. That was bad!

  26. luval says:

nkd…my thoughts too. Even though Adam is a pro, he has nerves like anyone else. haha We (I) are talking like Adam has the “job”. Can’t wait to see who the committee selects.

I see the twitition has 641 votes. Started at 591 3 hrs ago. So really not a lot of gain. I think you have to be signed up on twitter to vote. No one I know around here is on twitter.

eta…one more thing on sports fans. My have they changed in the last few years. Booing is the norm now. My local team Syracuse University is no. one basketball team for the last month, but they get booed so badly when they throw a bad shot. People in general are much more rude now than years ago I feel.

Somebody doesn’t heed their own reviews, fortunately!!

Yay! I do remember seeing, a very long time ago, an explanation of Rolling Stone’s rating system. According to what I read (which I’m pretty sure was in a RS magazine), 5 stars is primarily given to “classics.” For example, in the particular issue I’d read the explanation, the only 5-star ratings were given to Neil Young and someone else from that era. I’m sure there are occasional exceptions, but they are certainly rare. Anyway, ever since I read that, I’ve mentally altered their system to a 4-star rating for Adam and other contemporary artists, so for BTIKM, 3 out of 4 realistically attainable stars is pretty damn good.

  29. luval says:

Thanks for that Teri63. I re-subscribed to RS just in case Adam might get some good press. I think in 2012 it’s time for another magazine cover too. Keeping fingers crossed.

I think in 2012 it’s time for another magazine cover too. Keeping fingers crossed.

I’ve been hoping for a new cover, too. Wasn’t the issue with Adam’s cover one of the biggest selling of that year? I’d think they’d want a repeat of those sales!

  31. riskylady says:

dcglam, Teri63, don’t you just love the little write-up with that Playlist? Telling Ke$ha to watch her back? That’s just what Adam wants, to be in that pop mix! Happy for him – he keeps getting mentioned more and more in popstar company. I love every variation of Adam: torch singer, musical singer, Queen Adam, hard rock, pop, r&b, electronica, dance, funk when we get it! We will NEVER get bored!!!
I read somewhere the Adam cover was their best-selling cover ever, not just of 2009. Maybe for March/April with album release? Or another Queen collab?

  32. dcglam says:

Haha, riskylady…. I’m with you and all of the above! Big Smile

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! Late to the convo about KC

Re KC’s comment: I wasn’t sure how it was meant,

KC lives down here in the Ft Lauderdale area. He performed on idol during S8 and sometimes would do same night critiques of S8 performances with Louis Aguirre on Deco Drive, our local news Channel 7’s entertainment show. He was always a big Adam fan and thought he should have won. Just my two cents. Grin

OMG, could Sauli be any more precious?? His blog just made my day – you can hear “happy” behind his words, and you just know that he’s someone you would enjoy hanging out with (or taking a run with Grin ).

I wonder how much of this good-living lifestyle Adam participates in? I remember him doing a cleanse with Sauli, and I’ve seen pics of them running, so I’d say Sauli is a very good influence (well, most of the time Wink )!

I assume they run together, unless Sauli is able to take picture of himself from the distance…
Adam admitted many times that sports and exercising is not his thing, so I think that Sauli’s influence is a blessing. We all must’ve read comments on other blogs terrible things about Sauli, (all these commenters are thisclose to both boys and they know everything), but my opinion about Sauli does not change. From what I read he is the best thing that happened to Adam lately. One has to be very happy and enjoy the other person company immensely when deciding on spending NYE alone, without the madding crowd…
