The band was perfect – the keyboardist played great and sang beautiful harmony with Adam. And Ashley was so cute – any reason she was kneeling while playing, or is that just her style?

yes, Texas, I saw the tremble and my heart just went out to him. He has so much hanging on this album…and this song clearly means so much to him…he needed validation from us, just like he did for OOL in Ste Agathe. It must be terrifying on some level to put a new song out there for us…and so so so exhilarating when we send the love back to him.
Ceddies, I was just trying to post that very comment, but it’s just not coming out right, lol. After reading the tweet from the audience member that it seemed that Adam was singing directly to Sauli during much of the performance, it seemed like it was extra sincere and personal for Adam tonight. That made it even more special.

I can’t believe I saw it….I just came back for an hour from work before having to go out again and came straight to the computer thinking a video might be up, and saw from Twitter he hadn’t been on and managed to get one of the streams to work….The ending was unbelievable. I was kind of too nervous to enjoy it as much as I should have, I need to see it again now so I can relax a bit more through it knowing he nailed it.

There were definitely a lot of emotions going on. First song of new album, new band members, the emotions of the song itself, a song that requires showing vulnerability as well as acrobatic singing, Sauli in the audience. Don’t know how he can stand the pressure, but he did it, and it was beautiful.
One more thing – mj just opened the Adam/Leno thread! She’s very, very complimentary in her post and she included the new hawt photo!!!

Ok so I go to use my camera to record the song from my tv. A minute in my funny little bird decides to sing along. Then my 80 pound dog decides he needs to go out the front door. Gave up & went to my sun room to try on that tv. Again the dog wants to check the back yard (that’s his job). Finally I got it filmed. Tomorrow I will check the quality. I have a better camera I can try it on if this didn’t work. Such hoops I jump for Adam! LOL

As much as I loved all the glitter & glam that was last year I have to say I like this better. I feel he’s settling into the type of performer he wants to be. A new maturity. And I think he will appeal to a broader base.

Stayed up late…am here at work. So much to catch up on. Wolf hair, gorgeous clean (thanks kradamour)look. Stunning vocals, band looked and sounded great. OOFTA, and no pendant!
I think he’ll have an edgier look on Ellen. And I feelhe will have dancers on the tour. Just like GN he’ll have them in the appropriate songs.

I exercised monumental self-control and waited until the west coast broadcast so that the first time I’d see the performance would be on my big-screen tv, but with all of the flailing all around me, it was tough!
That was an awesome performance, and I love it more with each viewing. His vocals were beautiful, the band sounded great, his embellishments were perfect, and he looked gorgeous. He seemed a little nervous at first, but he settled in quickly, and it just made him even more endearing anyway. And I wanted him to rip that mike away from the mike stand earlier in the song and free himself to move around more, but he did eventually. I loved the build up from the bridge to the end.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of the variations in the way he performs this song as he continues to perform it – rolling around it in, breaking it in, and getting really comfortable in it. So it will be really fun to see what he does with it on Ellen on Thursday.
And tomorrow we get the Leno backstage interview, perhaps a preview of Ellen, and maybe just maybe we’ll get that Byron Cooke interview soon too!
Hello Friends! Needed to drop in quickly and flail with everyone. Can’t read comments but have looked quickly at this one page and looks like folks really likey!!! I have to say until I saw the HD version I couldn’t get the impact of how absolutely great our boy did. A bit nervous, yes..but stunningly lovely and freaking assured by the end. Will only get better. I guess Ashley’s strap broke so she kneeled down with her guitar. Poor thing! Like Keven’s voice with Adam’s. Have to say it seemed odd not having Monte on the stage but things move forward.
Working 12 hours a day and need to keep up that pace for a week or so more.
