The first month of 2012 finds Adam’s new single “Better Than I Know Myself” already making its appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, as we await the “official” radio add dates of January 23 (HAC) and January 30 (CHR). Hoping for much promo and excitement in the next few months as things build toward the release of Adam’s second album “Trespassing” on March 20. We should have a new tour to look forward to later this year as well! Enjoy the chat!

Been without internet for about a week so have lots to catch up on. Had to share this though. Every night this week, I’ve been listening to Mix 105.1 out of Orlando because I’d heard they were playing BTIKM. I heard it on the car radio for the first time yesterday after work.

First, I was so excited that they were playing it that I just sat there in the parking garage taking it in. I only caught the introduction “Adam Lambert” and there was no conversation afterward–they went directly to the next song.

Before, whenever I listened to the song, I thought of Adam and Sauli. But yesterday I really felt the lyrics, and thought of my husband and some of the rough times we’ve been going through. He’s depressed over being unemployed almost three years now and thinks maybe I’d be better off without having to support him. (I’ve had to remind him that he supported me the first fifteen years of our marriage while we were raising children)

Anyway, it’s a great song, and it really touched me. I cried through it–joy for Adam getting airplay, and a bit of a release for me.

  2. dcglam says:

Thanks for sharing your story, Ellessay. Adam and his music do provide so much inspiration for most all of us in some way. It makes it even more special that he was able to “get into you” through BTIKM. That’s exactly what he hopes to do.
Hugs and love your way….. Heart Heart Heart

  3. Kradamour says:

Speaking of the GB Did you see what the Home Planet was calling the shirt from dinner pics?

    The cock block shirt.

    OOFDA! Smile

Somewhere on the web is an Adam lexicon site, or there was…just a reminder that I am the proud creator of the term “glamtsunami”! (bows) Cool

Speaking of…um…something or other (not sure how I can include this and still be ontopic…), I just saw an amazing vid of someone who was on America’s Got Talent, she is 24 and adorable and WAY talented. She plays ANYTHING on her violin, including hiphop. She has a couple of dozen videos on youtube…here is her LMFAO Party Rock Anthem cover:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2APZN9FJNY&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL and a Gaga cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCaOS3TAjbI&feature=relmfu and her newest, out last week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGCsyshUU-A&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL Love her personal statement: “I want to stand for the idea that you can love yourself for who you. We are all filled with imperfections but that is what forces us to rely on others; ultimately that is what makes us the strongest.”

Like Adam, she has known since she was a little girl that she needed to play the violin…and it totally seems that she was born for this. (that is my Adam connection!)

  4. cwm says:

That’s a very touching story, Ellessay; thank you for sharing. I think that Adam would be glad to know that he touched your heart like that, and as dcglam said, connecting with people’s emotions and experiences is indeed what he hopes to do with his music. I’m sorry for your struggles, and I send my best wishes to you and your hubby.

  5. dcglam says:

Kradamour…. Along with being talented, she is certainly a cutie and so fun to watch. Thanks for bringing her over here! Smile

  6. Ellessay says:

Thanks for the good wishes dcglam and cwm

I agree about the songs. Some from FYE touched me emotionally, some were just fun. I’m looking forward to the new album too.

Been listening to the interviews–what is it about the sound of his voice? I love just listening to him talk.

  7. cwm says:

Adam will be on the air with Ryan Seacrest next Friday Jan 20!

    Rae_1985 Rae
@RSP There’s a rumor @adamlambert is going to be on Ryan’s show next week. Any details on when or if it’s true?

    @RSP Ryan Seacrest Prod.
@Rae_1985 He’ll be @OnAirWithRyan on January 20. Thanks for asking!

Ellessay, I can’t say it any better than cwm, so I won’t try. Hugs to you! Rose

dcglam, glad you enjoyed Lindsey’s vids! Smile

  10. glambotgram says:

Ellessay Hugs and warm wishes! Thank you for sharing your touching moment. I agree about Adam’s voice, sometimes just hearing him sends chills. Glamshivers?

Kradamour OMG thank you for the videos, loved them. She is so darn cute and creative.

  11. milwlovesadam says:

Ellesay, I’m so glad you have this place to share your feelings. I also find that music brings out emotions. A song that slays me every time I hear it, someone mentioned here last week as well, is Mama by Il Divo. I can’t help it, my soul aches when I hear it. The strength of the vocals, the lyrics, it’s just overwhelming.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Utm4T6lT7pE

Another is highlighted at MJ’s today, Glee is covering The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. That one just brings a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes, every time.

  12. glambotgram says:

mils ” I mentioned Mama last week, yes the song just rips me apart.

I had to laugh to see you mention “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”
It was my mother’s song, she had the 45 and would wake me up on Sat. mornings when I was a teenager, playing it on repeat, over and over and over. And as a good eyeroller of the time I HATED that song. lol

  13. cwm says:

If you’re the voting type, Adam could use some votes here. He’s up against David Cook and is trailing. *gasp!*

  14. Ceddies says:

I have Leona Lewis’ CD, Spirit, which has The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. She does a beautiful job of that song. That’s one of the songs that I get in the car, crank up the music, and just drive–out on the open roadway of course.

Ellessay, thanks for sharing. Hopefully things will be better this year for you two. I get the feeling that there will be several songs on Trespassing that will rip us to our souls. I’m always sad to think of Adam being sad, so we’ll just have to see where he takes us. We all will probably be alternately sad then joyful when this thing hits.

  15. milwlovesadam says:

I’m bringing this over from Home Planet. It’s older, but, I had seen it a long time ago. Wow. It’s from almost two years ago. No wonder we all fell for him so hard.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=qAyp7RKozdA

  16. dcglam says:

Loved watching that vid all over again, mils. It was a little sad listening to him talk about Monte and their friendship way back then. Interesting that he really did take Justin Timberlake’s advice about re-creating some Freddie Mercury stuff by putting his own spin on it. Boy, did he look gorgeous as well!

  18. turquoisewaters says:

Thanks for sharing, Ellesay, and hugs to you.
The ability to bring out the emotion is definitely
one of Adam’s strengths. I swear he can sing right into my soul. I have probably heard every song 500 times by now, and I still find new details in his interpretations.

  19. turquoisewaters says:

mils: one of my favorite interviews. I alternate listening and just watching him talk. Grin

  20. jess says:

Coming briefly out of lurkdom to share an Adam story. My daughter’s contact law professor gave the class a hypo scenario discussion question whereby Lady Gaga contracted Adam Lambert to paint her house and then refused to pay him for the paint job. Sounds like gaga. Seems BB has infiltrated Texas law schools. Love this site n all u regulars. Bye!

  21. nkd says:

jess…so glad you dropped in with your story, but don’t go away. Come back and join us sometime!

  23. luval says:

    good morning everyone.

I checked out the competition with Leno Tuesday night:

Letterman: Ricky Gervais and Kathleen Edwards (?)
Kimmel: Heigle, NeYo, Grouplove (on at midnight est)
Fallon: Kyra Sedgwick, Ndamukong Suh (det. lions football player), Outasight.

I’ll bet the producers of all the late night shows check out the other shows in the control room. Smile

Kradamour, I watch America’s Got Talent…like it second to AI, and remember the violin girl. Just didn’t get enough viewer votes but she was exactly like the videos…perky, fun and talented.

Adam’s BTIKM sales numbers for last week:

Will be interesting to see a bump after Ellen & Leno.

Need help! I can’t get radio sophie to pull up so I can vote for Adam vs Lana Del Rey! Can anyone bring the link here? Thnx.

  27. fwachdr says:

Thanks luval! He’s way ahead–I feel better already!!

  28. luval says:

    You are welcome, fwachdr.

I’m torn on these radio polls. Is this the way one can get a song played? I imagine on those “smash or trash” contests, you might never hear of the trashed song again. I don’t know. It does give singers a way to promote I guess.

  29. milwlovesadam says:

I think it’s publicity and a compliment to even be in a poll.

  30. fwachdr says:

I agree with mils–it’s a compliment! We just have to make sure he doesn’t get “trashed”, luval!

  31. milwlovesadam says:

Wow. Just listened to that interview again. What is it about this one? He’s so relaxed, so articulate and poised. So focused in his answers. And the DJ is a very skilled interviewer.

Just love this one. I hear so much of who Adam became in this interview. This is before the European promo started I think.

  32. Kradamour says:

Hi, fwachdr/froggie! So glad you had the time to hop in today! (waves)

Three day weekend, woot! Now we need something epic to happen while there is some extra time to flail!

Gotta say tho that I am getting tired of the endless polls, contests, etc. etc. I feel obligated to do my part, but it’s a lot like chain letters…and for many of them, you have to register on a site. I doubt that any artist actually benefits in the long run…but it is like the atheist who prays on his deathbed, just in case…so I vote. I feel manipulated, though. (Not by Adam, of course, and anyway I would be delighted to be his puppet!)(Oh, right, I already am…)(but I know I’m not alone! Waving to my peeps on this site!) Smile Heart Smile

  33. nkd says:

I feel the same Kradamour, but Adam generates hits for these sites so they keep pimping him. I say, just play his song dammit! Being the devoted fan, I vote, but feel very manipulated.
I anxiously wait for the numbers after these initial appearances, but will enjoy seeing and hearing Adam on TV! YAY!

Adam will be on next Friday.

  35. luval says:

Thanks for that Q CBC video. A side link was this…my favorite fan made video of all time. I’ve posted it before. One of the recent comments was that it’s the “hottest 2min 51sec on youtube”. It’s actually approaching one million views.

Not a David Cook fan, but I liked the song well enough. Of course, I voted for Adam.

  39. Kradamour says:

    Who is Rob Lowe?

  40. nkd says:

luval, yeah, I’ll admit to a few of those almost million views! Grin

My mom has a new tablet that she’s learning to use. While visiting with her, I showed her how to search on youtube. We searched Adam, can’t remember what we were looking for, but fan vids came up as suggestions and she watched one. It was an innocent one, but Blush when she finds one of these!
She has only seen Adam on Idol and other TV appearances. I just took GNL to her, so I don’t know! Wink

Very true. My favorite song so far has been Sleepwalker. I love version on the CD. I identify with the haunting sadness of that version more than the fierceness of his later performances. Of course, EVERY performance is great, but some just touch me more than others.

Another example is WLL. It’s never been a favorite song of mine (even though I own the original 45 record). If I’d skip any videos from the AI tour, it would be the WWL ones. But the Fantasy Springs performance is about the sexiest thing I’ve ever watched (video only alas!) It was the one song I wished for at the GN concert I attended. Sigh…We only got MW instead, but who’s complaining!

    Oh honey!
He’s a 40 something actor. Part of the “brat pack” of the 80’s.

I really love Rob Lowe…handsome, intelligent. Has been married for years to the same woman!! I think he and Adam would get along great. And I mentioned the other day he’s promoting his made for tv movie called “Untouchable” where he’ll portray Drew Peterson the cop who may have contributed to his 3rd wife’s disappearance. Can’t wait to see this. Based on a true story.

  45. luval says:

nkd, thanks, so so so so true!!

I’m waiting for my phone to ring, with these:

“HI. Hey just calling to let you know that Adam’s on Leno tonight.”

    or

“Hey, did you see Adam on Ellen yesterday?”

Gah. They should know me better by now. I’ll have to muster up my best “Oh really? I’ll see if I have time to watch it later.” Or, “Oh, thanks. Why yes, I did manage to see that.”

What they don’t need to know is that my DVR has been programmed for a couple of weeks, I’ve already seen it a few hundred times, blogged it. analyzed, devoured it, memorized it.

  48. dcglam says:
  49. luval says:

mils…I get the same thing from peeps at work. They so don’t get it.

I was thinking about this. My guess is that if Ellen chats with him…which I’m sure she will…he will announce his next charity or maybe another run for Water or the Trevor Project. JMO.

  50. fwachdr says:

Long weekend, indeed, kradamour! Son & wife, and our daughter took the 7 glambabies to the mts for MLK, so they can experience snow at least once a year, and I am here with no glambaby activities to distract me from counting the hours till Leno! It’s driving me crazy! Guess I’ll watch the Broncos/Patriots game tonight to take my mind off Leno/Ellen. BTW, we stopped at the Patriots Hall of Fame enroute to THE Foxwoods concert (our husbands gambled while we went to see Adam). HOF was impressive, but not half as impressive as AFL!
