Another month has arrived, the last one before Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! February will hopefully see Adam’s lead single “Better Than I Know Myself” continue to gain airplay and sales. There should be a bump from the music video which is expected early this month. Meanwhile Adam will likely continue working on promo events in preparation for his upcoming album release, which is slated for March 20 here in the US. Perhaps with more promo being done ahead of the album release this time around, the next tour can begin by this summer? Enjoy the chat!

Update 2/4/2012: BTIKM music video was released Thursday night, feel quite certain we’ll be seeing plenty of it on VH1 in the next few weeks!

this is the woman who tweeted last night about seeing Adam at Disneyland. It’s nice to see that he and Kris had a change to reconnect…

I’m pretty sure that was Kris Allen sitting with Adam.

    http://www.twitlonger.com/show/g1tdo0

  4. milwlovesadam says:

Okay, so here are some thoughts, please take them as the musings of a loving fan:

I see Adam’s newest tweet that he has seen negative blogs and posts. I just hope that he can also find all the love and positive energy coming his way too. Most of the press and blogs are loaded with love and joy. Even MJ seems to have cleaned up her thread of any hater comments. ( Yay!!) And, his tweet seems to indicate that the hate just fuels his energy to be even greater. Okay, so be it.

I have listened to the EMA performance several times since the news broke. It continually knocks me flat. However, he really pushed his voice hard. And in interviews right after he sounded pretty husky. I just hope that he has excellent vocal coaches, and that his adrenaline doesn’t take over and cause him to hurt those beloved vocal cords. He could really take big chances with a show like this.

I’m sorry to be like this, but, in a year of people like Adele truly damaging their voices, and as a professional in a related field, I do worry about Adam’s voice. True, I have listened to Angelina Kalahari talk about his voice, and the likelihood that he’ll never lose it to over-use because he knows how to use his voice properly,( her most recent show was after she was right in front of him at the radio station in Penn), I still do worry.

Now, as for costuming and staging. I have a feeling that Adam will run into a lot of haters if he dresses in any way, shape or form like Freddie. So, no yellow leather jackets, no red pants, no capes, no English flags as clothes. Please. Dress like Adam. At least one thing we won’t have to worry about or even speculate about: He’ll keep his shirt on!!!

Now, one more thing: sorry for going on for so long. I’ll say out loud what a lot of us may be thinking to ourselves. I am so very happy for his success. But, we have had him in an intimate way up until now. Many of us have met him, hugged him, spoken with him, we feel close to him because of this and because of our friendships here and at other sites, but, now he’s becoming a huge international star. And while we want this for him, I do feel like we will lose the opportunity to be “intimate” with him in the future. Our chances for meet & greets will slim. The competition will be too much. I feel so fortunate to have had my M&G’s. I know so many out there haven’t had theirs yet.

It’s time to “share” Adam with the rest of the world. It’s not going to be easy “letting go”, but I’ll try to be a grown up. After all, I am “30.”

Does anybody else share these feelings?

  5. rainbowgal4 says:

Totally well said mils. I have a feeling that Adam, not matter how big a success he gest to experience, will never forget how he got there. He seems to have that sort of ethic. And we will always be able to look at him with pride and remember those hugs. I will always treasure the time I got to spend with him. And there’s no doubt you love your man on the stairs!

  6. milwlovesadam says:

Wow. I just did some math. ( I know, my head hurts, LOL). I went to ALF and checked out some tickets just for the fun of it, I can’t even remotely go to the show. However, IF I were to go, the only way would be with the VIP one day ticket. With special reserved and covered seating, better accommodations, etc. I did the currency exchange, and it’s 781 dollars per person. Just for the show. Not airfare, hotels, etc.

Now, if Suz is going, and could get up close like this, and video for us, I wonder if she will be setting up a slush fund like she did for Europe and GN?

  8. Kradamour says:

    Yes, mils.

A lot of us have mused about “losing” Adam. I think that he will always find ways to connect on a more intimate way with some fans, smaller venues – he seems to get strength from that – but it will be very, very hard to be a part of those smaller venues. I am so grateful to have gone to Paris to see his concert in that little club before anyone there knew him, because the CD had only been released there the month before. I look at the ebay auction for a meet and greet that is up to thousands of dollars and I just shrug my shoulders.
Those who had Ste Agathe will look back at that and be grateful to have been there; perhaps one of the last opportunities to see our boy up fairly close and personal.

Re the voice – that is my concern for these Queen things. I would so mourn the loss of subtlety from that golden throat…but I know that Adam values this even more than we do, and I think that he would step away from danger. He plans to sing for his supper for years to come. And now he has the money to pay for coaches and doctors to keep his voice safe.

Re haters – it made me sad that Adam felt the need to address that. It means that it did hurt him. But he also knows that his loyal fans have his back and Sauli has the home fires burning. Smile

  9. luval says:

Mils, I agree with everything you said. And I worry about his safety as well as his voice.

  10. milwlovesadam says:

Yes luval. I don’t think he’ll be able to just go to Disneyland and have supper without security in the future. Or, maybe he’ll always be more safe here in the states, because he will be better known overseas.

Simon knew he would be a worldwide star. He said it on Idol. He said it on Oprah. It just took some time. This is his year. That Saturn theory ( whatever it was called ) could be true for him.

  11. milwlovesadam says:

Yes Kradam, his fans have his back, and his family loves and support him, and he has Sauli.

Well said, mils. The worries, the hopes, the feeling of losing “our” Adam. Emotional times for all of his surrogate moms like me. I think we all know there will always be setbacks and hard times, we just hope he can avoid the worst parts of the show business. But in the end I say “Go get them, Adam.” He is out there living his dream and I could not be more proud.

  16. milwlovesadam says:

  18. dcglam says:

As another one of Adam’s surrogate moms, I find his most recent tweet incredibly painful. I know that this kind of crap is out there, but I generally choose to ignore it. This is a tough one and difficult to ignore because it is obviously getting to Adam.

I personally feel that the majority of these haters are not die hard Queen fans. I feel that the “true” Queen fans would be totally respectful of Brian’s and Roger’s decision and invitation to include Adam for this epic performance. These two men have been very open and public about this decision, even stating that Freddie would have approved. I imagine for most real Queen fans this statement is all that was needed for Adam to be accepted. I strongly feel that most of this hate is coming from the usual haters who now have another bandwagon to jump on.

    Regarding Adam’s tweet….
I absolutely love and adore his response in that he can turn something so negative into something very positive. Love and light, Adam! Heart Heart Heart

Congratulations to all those going the fest in July. Belated Happy Birthday to Cher, the hostess with the mostess, I’ve heard about but never had the pleasure of meeting. Glad to see MJ’s isn’t taking much of a tongue lashing today as I’m a long time supporter and fan of MJ. Running the type of blog she does is not easy and she does it better than anyone else on the web IMO. I really do think she’s getting stretched a little too much trying to cover so many shows and subjects. It’s still the first place I check out each morning for news. Did any of you Canadian know Natesglamgram on twitter or Mama H on some blogs? She was a very invested Adam fan who passed away yesterday.Adamsdaily has info about it. Hi Mils and RainbowGal.

  21. turquoisewaters says:

dcglam says: I find his most recent tweet incredibly painful.

Me too. And I agree with your analysis that the hate is not coming from Queen fans. It’s the usual suspects.

So sad for Adam to face this crap everywhere he turns…And what is happening with BTIKM and radio…I just don’t get it….He did all that promo and everyone loved him and still they don’t spin his song…I love the song…There is so many crap songs on the radio that get played all the time…I don’t get it…Adam should be feeling on top of the world right now, but no, the haters are out in full force…

    So disheartening….

BTIKM only got one add today (HAC, small market). After all that wonderful promo last week – he got one lousy add. Dammit. What is wrong with these radio people? So frustrating. Not sure whether I’m pissed off or discouraged. Or both. Sigh.

  25. loveroftalent says:

@cwmI’m a bit of both myself…I just don’t understand what is going on with radio…Didn’t RCA test this song with the radio PDs first…I still think it is a great song and Adam sings the crap out of it….Shouldn’t talent come into play for Adam…

  26. ultimathule says:

Got in the car at 6:00 p.m.tonight and switched on Big 100.3 (D.C. – Classic Rock) and the announcer said that Adam Lambert is going to be the lead singer for this group and then they played “Somebody to Love.” Apparently, 100.3 is highlighting Queen tonight. DJ went on to talk about the show in the UK during another break – mentioning Adam again. Every little bit helps, I guess. Reading about Adam’s tweet here and the lack of radio play after the promos really has me down though. Gotta keep plugging away at good and hopeful thoughts – remembering how happy Adam appears.

And happy 30, Cher – I’d settle for that – lol.

    Think I’ll move to Bulgaria.

    From adamtopia:

    > There are a lot of different ticket options and packages for this event.

Melisende called the Sonisphere ticket office and got this information:

    Premium Grandstand Reserved Seating

I just call the Sonisphere ticket office to try and find out exactly what we’re getting for our £474.00 Premium Grandstand Reserved Seated tickets – besides a barbecue, free booze and private toilets. The gal I talked to was very nice and was scrambling around trying to find a map, but Sonisphere hadn’t issued any yet. She assured me several times, however, that for a premium ticket we will be at the front. I told her that I had been looking at the 360° view camera and could see no grandstands anywhere. I also didn’t think that people who had been standing pressed against the fence since 7am would appreciate being pushed back while a group of VIPs are herded in as abuse is heaped on their heads. Smile

She laughed and said it wouldn’t be like that and that we will have “Reserved Seated” tickets exactly as it says, very close to the front. She also said that the reserved seats are issued on a first-come first-serve basis and that because we are buying into the pre-sale ( the regular public cannot buy tickets until Thursday), those of us buying now would get the best seats.

I’m going to call again near the end of the week because she said by that time they should have maps and be able to say more clearly just where that grand stand is located but it will definitely not be at the back – not for that kind of money she said!

  36. ultimathule says:

You take a good song like BTIKM with a terrific vocal and it gets few adds so no one get to hear it – thus, it’s a flop.
You take a mediocre song like MKIA with an average vocal and it gets played till you run screaming out of the room – and it’s a hit.
So is success dependent on just putting it on the radio and playing it over and over? People get used to hearing it and thus think it’s a success? If so, who decides to play it over and over?

How does all this work – I’m confused.

  37. Kradamour says:

And I’m so thankful for all the peeps overseas that accept him completely. That success will keep him going until we Americans catch up.

    Me, too, rainbow. Smile

But gotta say I agree with Luval that the Queen gig could take some of the wind out of the sails of the new album…the timing could definitely be better. I wish that the album was out NOW so that Sonisphere could rid on the coattails of the album instead of the reverse. (shakes head) I know that the gig with Queen is in many ways AMAZING for Adam but not sure it is in his best long-term interest, especially since it seems to have turned over a few rocks that trolls were living under.
No matter. It will all work out as it should. I do believe that Adam’s star is in the sky now, but it may not shine quite as we think it should.
I think at this point it is obvious that Adam will be able to make a living with his voice, but perhaps not on our terms. He has often said that he wants financial security and domestic happiness.
Has he ever said that his goal is to be a mega-star playing arenas? If so, I missed it.

Adam is thoughtful and smart and knows the ropes and is mad talented – although, as many have pointed out, an amazing voice is fairly optional on the radio these days. Think Katy Perry, for example. Cute, funny, catchy songs…voice? Not so much.

I think our boy will be fine, and will find a way to perform and have a career on his own terms.

Hi Northern Spirit. Not sure yet about going. Have some things to sort out. I still have Ste. Agathe on my brain as the most amazing concert ever. It went by so fast! I’m actually not familiar with many of Queen’s songs other than the obvious ones we all know. I would love to spend a day in London…Notting Hill (ah..Hugh Grant). So waiting is probably the wrong thing to do but I’m still not 100%. I’m hoping Adam might do something in the U.S.!

We are a hardy fandon!! In Love

  44. Teri63 says:

Kradamour: I loved your post above. (and, as I type, BTIKM is playing on Chicago’s Mix station, so I’m extra inspired here!) I’ve often (figuratively — don’t worry, I haven’t gone that mad) slapped my own hands when I’ve gotten frustrated by Adam’s lack of “superstar” status. I’ve reminded myself that as a kind of competitive fan, I’ve wanted him to grind the other popstars into pulp as he shows the universe that he’s the best vocalist I’ve heard in literally decades. But, superstardom may not be his ultimate goal. He keeps saying how happy he’s been living the domestic life over the past year, and he’s always cited being in love as a desire really coveted by him. I’ve also gotten the impression that being critically acclaimed is up there on his list of vitally important wishes. Well, he’s in love with an awesome-seeming man, he’s getting critical acclaim from all directions, and he’s getting an amazing opportunity to front QUEEN at a huge stadium event. I’ve made myself stop worrying about every radio play and rude comment made toward him. Just 4 years ago he was playing to smallish crowds at nightclubs. Now he’s fronting Queen at Sonisphere knowing he has the man of his dreams waiting for him (at home or his dressing room) with a solid fanbase other artists would KILL for. I’m soooooo happy for him and thrilled to be his fan. I haven’t had this much fun since I was a vicarious Peter Frampton groupie back in the late ’70’s!

  45. Kradamour says:

I’ve also gotten the impression that being critically acclaimed is up there on his list of vitally important wishes.

I agree, teri. Adam is a singer’s singer – heck, the boy even gives a master class to his fans on twitter! Clearly the opinion of people he respects is important to him; and he is loving working with people he has said he barely feels worthy of collaborating with.

No, I am not at all worried about Adam. Smile

Back to RL…have a great evening, peeps! Sweet Adam dreams!
