I agree that seeing Adam do 8 to 10 songs with Queen is priceless. And many, many people will see this event. But the idea of the Olympics – the platform would be enormous. Millions of people would be watching. So I still have my fingers crossed.

tlkc, you make it sound so much fun…I’m so tempted…apart from I don’t know who any of the other performers are, although my DH was always into rock, so maybe he will be swayed. But the Rock Royalty package is about $12,000 (gulp)….but the chance to party with other Adams fans would be great.
I am sure this will be amazing, I am so happy for those of you who can go. We will see it through your eyes. Maybe we will be able to buy it also.

When I first read this I looked up at my husband and asked if he wanted to go to England this summer. He thinks I am nuts.
We usually go to the UK at some point in the summer, no reason at all for it not to be in July instead of August. Really don’t think I can justify the rock package, but will definitely try and get at least saturday tickets. Knebworth is driving distance from where we usually stay.(I think)
Especially as I don’t think the Japan trip will work out.

glambotgram NO, you’re not! The Duke called me at work with the news and he proceeded to do research.As you all know he is a good Adam fan and really got hooked on the EMAS performance. I have booked a couple of hotels and am considering 2 days (altho I personally only want Queen and Adam.) I am trying to stay clear of the really expensive Royalty Rock pkg.and I don’t do CAMPING!(I don’t like General Admission either so this is all scary but I want to try to do it.) Would love to connect up with any of you from here who might be going. Will keep you posted. Will check on frequent flyer miles tomorrow. Too tired to do any more on this tonite. Getting up the gumption to talk to my husband this evening about what he thinks about going to Sonisphere… LOL I can’t believe it. No one in my circle would understand going overseas for a concert.
But… we have been talking about plans to go to France and Italy this summer. I wonder if I could swing sticking in a quick side trip to London…

Re spontaneous trips to England:
Just do it.
I still can’t believe that I just scooped up my son and went to Paris for Adam’s concert there and bought meet and greets for us both…but I have never regretted it.
If I liked Queen or had any interest in this concert, I would def find a way to go. You don’t need the whamodyne tickets or a fancy hotel.
Move fast and find accomodations you can afford before they are gone.
Find a cheap airline ticket and just go!
I can’t imagine that you will ever look back and say, “Gosh, I wish I hadn’t gone to that concert.”

I’m with you on this. But, heck, I’m going to give this a try. If I have to stand off to the side to be safe, I’ll do it. We’ll never have another opportunity like this again : Queen + Adam and there in person!

All you who are going/thinking of going to the Sonisphere performance – this is a GREAT year to go – it’s the Queen’s Jubilee – 60 years on the throne – and there will be all sorts of special stuff happening. Also the London Olympics start July 27. Who needs an excuse!!!!!!! Wish I could go, but I have already booked 2 trips to France and that’s gonna break the bank.

OMG this might just actually happen! I sat down next to my hubby, and mentioned our planned trip to Europe this summer with our kids and how just last week we were considering whether or not to include London in our itinerary (we decided then not to). I put the Sonisphere poster and press release in front of him, and he said “Well, if you want to go, go and I’ll go with you.” WOOT!!!! We have to figure out how to attach it to the trip we’ve already tentatively mapped out, so there’s lots of logistics to work out, but it just might happen! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!

That’s why I want to do only THE one important and THE best.Duke started out wanting all 3 so I’ve made progress. Hi everyone! Had a crazy day yesterday. No chance to enjoy my 30th!!!
Had to work. They did cut me a cake but it was very brief since we were busy, then had to go a good distance away for my dear friend’s mom’s funeral visitation. That was more of a priority than a bday dinner.
What a great day for Adam to have announced this epic concert!!! Squeeee! I decided earlier not to go since I’m already going to Europe in May and don’t really like flying. However, several peeps are encouraging me to go, so I’ve actually bought a couple single day tickets for the Saturday of course. If I don’t end up going, then so be it. I hope a hotel nearby will rent Saturday night only rooms. I can’t afford that rock royalty ticket thing and don’t want to attend 2 nights. I shudder to think of myself in a crowd of over 100,000 people!! 
I am seriously considering it though. July 7th is my son’s birthday, but he lives on the West Coast so no more obligation there. 
I did facetiously ask him if he wanted to go and emailed him a copy of the Sonisphere poster. No answer yet. He thinks I’m nuts even though he’s an Adam fan too. 
Thank you all for your birthday wishes! I’ll try to celebrate sometime this week. I am owed many gift meals I think.

Once again. So so much to catch up with! First of all, Happy belated birthday to Cher! I swear you don’t look at day over 28.
So happy for those of you who are going and even thinking of going to England. Much of the fun is in the nervous anticipation and planning with all the other folks going. We are all going to get so much fun out of this whether we are going or not. I’m already going on a fairly expensive trip to Italy at the end of April so not in the cards for me. Not sure I would go anyway since really large crowds are not my thing.
It would be so cool if Queen decided they needed to do more rehearsals and tacked on something in the US and Russia to get ready for the big show.

I an going to be on a cruise to Norway and Iceland that ends up in England on July 2nd, and I am seriously thinking of staying on till the festival, but I am not sure what I would do alone in England for those 5 days. I was in London for a week for Adam’s concert last year. I don’t like the thought of the crowds either, so I am really vascillating.
For whoever wants to catch a show, I can’t give a high enough recommendation for “War Horse”. I saw it in New York in the fall and will see it again in London before the cruise. I haven’t seen the movie, but this is pure theater that can’t be recaptured on the screen, and some of the best I have ever seen, if not THE best.
Rainbow, thanks for that magazine cover picture. Geebus, has our guy ever looked better? Can you imagine that picture jumping out at you from a magazine stand?
