I’m happy that Sauli is going to NY with Adam. He’s interested in fashion so it’ll be fun for him even when Adam is working. I read that he worked in retail, modeled and also designed several pairs of jeans in Finland. He also stated in an earlier interview that he wanted to be a stylist. He also makes Adam happy so this trip is a winner for both of them. I’ve mentioned before that I have a crush on Sauli.

Ash much as the music community likes to pan Idol – there on the stage tonight was Kelly, Carrie and JHud. That’s a pretty good showing.
That was a beautiful, classy tribute to Whitney. Jennifer Hudson was great.

I still am not understanding why Adam is not booked on east coast shows. Ok it’s fashion week but geez what’s gonna happen after this week is over? It’s a long time until Mapril.
Yes, a total class act! Notice how she made it all about Whitney — not herself. She was never even introduced and left the stage immediately. Very much like when Adam performed with Queen…. He was never introduced either and made it all about them. Bravo to both!!!
I am not a fan of JHud. I always feel like each song she sings is just too over the top. That and she’s everywhere – over kill. But tonight I have to give her great props for doing the classy thing. Just like Adam did.

Nicki Minaj’s performance was the worst of the night, IMO. I had a difficult time sitting through it. I also noticed how Adele thanked radio for playing all her music when she received the Record of the Year award. It can make a difference…. *sigh*.
So Lady Gaga was there “seemingly” in costume (LOL), but no performance???
I really missed having Gaga perform tonight (and I hated Nicki Minaj!) Oh well, I’m going to start hoping for an Adam performance next year, right now.
Texas, they should have substituted Lady Gaga for NM. It is kind of a puzzle to me as to the reason why she didn’t perform. After all, she was up for album of the year and seems to perform on every other awards show.
Hmmm, just wondering….
And yes, Adam next year is a must, or I may just have to boycott the show!
ETA: Lady Gaga performed with Jason Aldean at the Grammy nomination concert at the end of November. This could be the reason.

I really enjoyed Taylor Swift(I know, I’m surprised too!), the Foo Fighters, and Sir Paul. I also thought JHud did a very good job.

Honestly, I’m grateful that all I had to see of Gaga was in the audience shots. I’ve had enough of her for a while. But, I would have preferred her over Chris Brown, and he performed twice! Ugh!

OOH, just remembered, I bumped into a friend of mine yesterday, who loves music and goes to all the concerts here in HK. He said ‘guess where Adam Lamberts playing in august” (he knows I’m a fan), so I got all excited and said I know, Japan, I;m trying to get hubby to take me etc, anyways he said he’s going (he loves Greenday and The Cardigans). So I shall use that as an incentive for hubby, as he good friends with this guy….maybe we could get a group together.

Midday BTIKM numbers update:
Pretty good report today on the 7 day rolling Hot AC chart – held at #31 but spins increased from 368 to 488 for a +120 move, and today’s bullet is +15 which is the highest I’ve seen so far. The song should be able to move up nicely through the 20s soon at this rate – it’s gaining spins faster than most other songs on the chart.
Hot AC adds – with 36 of 92 stations reporting, only one add so far (WBMX Boston). At least it’s the #10 radio market.
Top 40 adds – with 45 of 224 stations reporting, no adds yet
Hopefully there will be some additional adds once the full panels have reported, but at this point I’d say that the song has about 2 more weeks to start gaining faster on radio (and in sales where it has done little so far) before RCA considers moving on to another single. Hopefully the video moves quickly up the VH1 Top 20 countdown starting this week, and that along with Adam’s US radio promo (finally!) will help.
The recent hedging on the album release date may be due to the possible need for another single prior to release.
It seems that whenever you hear BTIKM played this week, you call in to win to see Adam live in studio.
