I just wanted the BTIKM to listen to also.
C made a ringtone on itunes by cutting the song to 30 seconds. I don’t know why you couldn’t use the same process to trim just the BTIKM part. But…I don’t know what she did. She tried to show me but I wasn’t paying attention!

I read somewhere that the event covers two nights and two cities. The groups are split in half. They do their shows in one city one night then move to the next city the next night. God does that make sense??? LOL

not that close rainbowgal, HK to Tokyo is a 4 1/2 hour flight…which is still a long flight for someone that hates flying. But just realised its actually my silver wedding on the 20th, so it would be a pretty good pressie..

ultimathule Yes. Adam will perform in one city one night then switch to the next city. So half of the acts will be in city A first night then got to City B the next night. The other half is the reverse. Hope this makes sense. Need a road map to keep up!! LOL

Just been checking in on the latest numbers thread on MJ’s. It really pi***s me off that Scotty hovers around 90 on Itunes while Adam just keeps sliding back…..i just don’t get the love for him, he’s just so boring and vanilla!

Having said that, if BTIKM will not pick-up after US promo, RCA should move to the next single ASAP. Album goes on sale in 6 weeks, and I don’t want Adam to go Cookie way..
And I think that Scotty is America’s clean cute boy personified.. and I find him boring like a hell.

HK fan I agree with you on how hard it is for Adam to gain ground. Especially when I see all the hype for LanaDelRey who in my opinion cannot sing!! So we have to do our part like we all do so well. Just keep asking for his song on the radio, buy the single and album for everyone we know and enter the contests, etc. Sooner or later they (the powers that be) will have no choice but to take notice. At least thats what my prayers are at night.
In that light I have played the BTIKM video on VH! so much that my parrot will be able to sing it any day now!

In fact when you take Scotty and Adam it sort of mirrors the conversation that is happening in our political discourse these days. The most exciting thing that gives me hope is all the support that Ellen is gaining in the public domain and how JC Penny stood it’s ground. We are pushing that boulder up hill right now but progress is being made. I have more hope now that I have ever had in years that my “life style” will no long be considered wrong, odd, ________ (fill in the blank). Exciting times!!
rainbow,I hope and believe that one day society will not have you feel that you are “different”. Coming from country that is rather anti-semitic and being a Jew I know (a little) how it feels. Don’t you just love when people say “I really like you, even though you are (Jew, Black, gay,Muslim,Orange, have your pick)? My response to my so-called friend was “You know, I really like you even though you come from ….. (I used the name of the city she was born)”

Oksana, I pretty much agree with your posts. So can we say this week is the official start of promo in the U.S.? He has to get on other tv shows. Ellen & leno are history. No matter how many views youtube gets no one is going to hear the song who matter. The radio listener. Talk about trudging uphill!
I’m counting on this promo coming up, live shows (although I would think we would have heard by now) and VH1. I remember when BTIKM demo came out. I HATED it! Disliked the feel of it, the melody, the fact that it wasn’t a “new” song. Of course after dozens of Adam versions I now love it so much. But, it’s a rough song for people to immediately enjoy. Of 3 friends I sent it to one said “it’s different”, another said “it’s ok” and the other one said “I’ll have to get used to it”.
Several of us loved it on the spot, but many of us took quite a long time…in the music world of course where everything can turn on a dime. This is troubling.And I’m the one who could not stand the hype!!!! But I’ll reserve judgement until after the album comes out. Am still nervous, though. Although I’d like to keep Adam to ourselves, I want America to love him! The rest of the world already does. Wake up America! like someone said.

People often change their beliefs when something hits them at home. The guy I know was very much anti-abortion, until his daughter got pregnant and he was suspecting that baby could be coloured (He is racist, too). Suddenly his pious speeches about the sanctity of the unborn life ended and now he is pro-choice.
luval, since my absolutely favourite song from FYE was “Sleepwalker” that didn’t do too well I don’t use my taste as a lithmus test. But I was never crazy about BTIKM and people I sent this song were not very enthusiastic as well. Maybe RCA felt that this is the safest song on the album? Most radio friendly? I HAVE NO CLUE.
It always makes me laugh when I read comment “I’m not really fan of _______”, and then names every member of the band.

You raise a very good point. Back in the day when I started being a “community organizer”, we always knew that by coming out we were pushing acceptance forward. Each of us that came out gave power to the next one doing the same. It’s like a slow rolling snowball. But we all knew the if a straight person got to know a gay person, either as a friend or family member it would be harder for them to discriminate. IE Your example of the father and abortion. Adam’s contribution to this process is so amazing. Plus the next generations are so much better at accepting. We still have a very long way to go but the changes I’ve seen in my days give me much hope. And the support we all give Adam does the same thing for him.

Dont’t get me wrong, I think it was tremendously courageous what she did. But the way she started, about what she missed most after losing her partner, was very powerful. Somehow I wished she had stopped there – with those first sentences she captured all that is important in a relationship and in this debate.
But, every voice is one, and hers is heard around the nation, and it was a great message, so it can’t be a bad thing.
Rainbowgal, I’m so glad for all the work you did. There’s no doubt in my mind you have helped some of the people you worked with. I didn’t live through/with the issues you did, and still do, and I am so proud of everyone who stands up for what they are/believe in. Everything you do will help getting the country a step closer to the end goal.

Good for you to have your grandsons on your side, but it should be everybody. I strongly agree that young people tend to be much more comfortable and accepting. Back when I grew up, I don’t think the word “gay” was uttered in my house ever.

Numbers update:
BTIKM dropped from #31 to #33 on the latest 7 day rolling HAC chart, as faster rising songs (Madonna, Goyte, Nickelback) passed it. It is still gaining spins though, going from 325 to 426 spins in the past week. The bullet has gone slightly negative for the moment, at -6. I see no further fast risers in the lower part of the chart, so BTIKM shouldn’t get passed again as long as it keeps slowly gaining spins.
The song has still not appeared on the rolling Top 40 chart (which goes down through #50 on Mediabase).
I’d say that we need to see significant movement on Top 40 in the next week or two, plus a faster rise on HAC, or RCA may have to consider moving on to another single before the album release. BTIKM is not yet getting the airplay it really needs, and with the song sliding back down the Itunes chart again I doubt sales have been great so far.
Not trying to be negative – just want Adam to have a huge hit leading into the album drop and right now I’m not seeing it happen for BTIKM. Hopefully next week’s promo will help. Still a mystery to me why the European promo was done when it was – Adam was pretty much out of the country for 2 weeks right after the impact date for the single.

Rainbow,you are so right about the next generation being so accepting.For most of kids of my friends sexual orientation is not even an issue.I am talking about twenty somethings, not a teenagers. To them it’s normal to bring their gay friends home and introduce to their parents “Dad , this is Peter and his BF Tom”.Unfortunately, my generation is not that open.Speaking about generations I started appreciate my Mom even more, when I realized how progressive she was in her views. I wish some of my friends were like her.
