2014 wraps up this month and what a year it has been. We did not get a new album but many of us got to see Adam and Queen perform live and will see them again in the UK and Europe. Adam still found time to record “Imagine” for UNICEF and starting December 1, also be part of “giveStars“ where all proceeds go to charity. Throw in a Classic Rock Award for Band of the Year and an appearance on the UK X Factor and I would say that it was a pretty good year for Adam and ALL his fans. December will probably be quieter as he prepares for the Winter 2015 Q+AL tour but we have plenty to keep us going until the tour starts. Here’s hoping that some news about the new album will be Adam’s year-end gift to us! He’s the gift that keeps on giving!! And speaking of gifts, how about spending NYE with Queen and Adam in London! What a way to ring in the New Year!!!

    Now I made up my own meanings of FLEEK .. “an old flame” or and old cupcake.

    OMG, that picture of our little blue-eyed cupcake with curls is eye popping! I cannot imagine how Adam and Sauli can be anything less than friends with major benefits.

    Kiwi Great news about the new hip. It must feel absolutely freeing to have so much less pain. Good for you!

    For those of you making latkes this year I found an amazing short cut. I used the plain shredded potatoes you can find in the refrigerator section of the grocery store (at least here in the States) and mixed them with some shredded sweet potatoes. Took half the time and were fantastic.

    Happy Chanukah to mils, rs, and anyone else who celebrates.

    I am worried about Brian cutting his hair too. You know I am all about the hair. Hope “somebody” hasn’t been talking to him about this. But glambotgramI remember in an interview too him saying that his hair was his trademark. He didn’t care what other people thought.

    I even tweeted him saying that I LOVE LOVE LOVE HIS BEAUTIFUL HAIR. lol Didn’t say anything like “don’t cut it”. Maybe he’ll get the hint!

    Will be interesting to see what “soon” means. Maybe just that the tour will be re-starting soon. Or it could be about the hair I suppose.

    having had the luxury of seeing Queen with Fred more than a half dozen times through the 70s and 80s, i can tell you that going to see Queen + Adam Lambert was something i got roped into, and didn’t really want to do (i would NEVER have seen them with Paul Rodgers). i was beyond surprised and very moved to see this kid (who i HAVE liked since AI) do such a spectacular job with Fred’s music, and treat Fred’s legacy with such great respect. The show was amazingly good.

    I love this comment from an old Queen fan under an article on my Yahoo! page. Most of the comments were positive, but a few just used Brian’s comments to fan the flames of their anti-Adam agenda. It was nice, though seeing the article in Yahoo:

    She guessed … Chanukkah was a combination of Christmas and Hanukkah.

    Just popping in, been away a bit, and answering before I read our blog up to date.

    Sorry. Nope. It’s just a different spelling which tries to spell a throaty “H” sound, common in Hebrew. It is also a sound in Arabic and German/Yiddish languages.

    Christmas and Hanukkah have absolutely nothing to do with each other except for a calendar coincidence some years.

    But, I digress. I’d rather talk about Adam here.

    Adamized, my sister and I have been doing the frozen shredded hash browns for several years, doctoring them up with egg, onions, and a little matza meal or flour. But, I have never added sweet potatoes. Your idea sounds so delicious, I am going to have to try it.

    I just rewatched that Chicago vid. Thanks luval for requesting it and thanks ulti for finding it so quickly. I know that we talked about it before, but what a consummate professional with nerves of steel Adam is. He must have been so nervous going into that first tour concert and then to have the mic fail! It reminds me a little bit of the AMAs when he tripped on the stairs and turned it into a ninja roll so people watching thought it was deliberate. Of course here he wasn’t alone on stage and he had a lot of support but it was still another huge test for him, performing in front of an arena full of diehard Queen fans. What must have been going on in his head, and in his stomach? Like I said, nerves of steel and belief in himself.

    Good morning, rs. Agree with you totally! And it shows to me that sitting side stage and almost behind isn’t all that bad! Also I never noticed that when his silhouette comes up on “now I’m here & now I’m there”, it’s not him putting his mic up to his face live with a spotlight on him but some kind of a photo on a scrim or something. Not sure of the word.
