After a very eventful past month for Adam and his fans, December has arrived. Adam enjoyed quite a bit of publicity during November, including an epic performance with Queen at the EMAs, a Rolling Stone interview, a mentoring appearance on Majors & Minors, and his return to the AMA stage (unfortunately only as a presenter this time around). Still no new music for us to enjoy with our holiday feasts, but all the signs currently point to the lead single from Adam’s new album being released in January.

Update 7 PM 12/14: as per Adam’s tweets today, “Better Than I Know Myself”, the lead single from his new album “Trespassing”, will be released on Tuesday, December 20th!

Enjoy the chat during this last month of 2011!

purplehaze wouldn’t have been on my list either, only because I don’t like the song..
Luval, curious to know what songs did make your list??

Adam made top 10 on 2011 best TV moments on Flecking Records.(remember Flecking records is a UK site so to make the list is good, they always love them some Adam).

  2. nkd says:

I didn’t pick that particular performance, but when I put the PH/WLL Cologne on my list, I chose it for the complete encore performance not for PH. You’ve gotta have that complete combo with WLL! Grin

Thanks for posting this, HK fan!
Adam and the Queen performance so deserve to be part of this list!!

An article about the Queen tribute band contest.
    http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/touring/adam-lambert-in-talks-to-join-authorized-1005623452.story

While Queen drummer Roger Taylor is at the finish line in creating a band-authorized Queen tribute band, he and his bandmates have begun discussions with Adam Lambert to front the band in concert.

The former “American Idol” star sang with Taylor, guitarist Brian May and bassist John Deacon at the MTV Europe Awards on Nov. 6, performing “The Show Must Go On” and “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions.”

“He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that’s great,” Taylor told Billboard.biz in Los Angeles while finalizing the band for a Queen Extravaganza tour. ” We would like to work with him again. There’s nothing signed just yet but we’re talking about live dates. It could be very exciting.”

They didn’t check their facts, I don’t believe John Deacon was part of the EMA performance.

  5. dcglam says:

    About this “Queen Extravaganza Tour”…
Adam definitely has those powerhouse vocals to do justice to any and all of their songs. However, I really don’t think that this is the direction that Adam wants to take right now with his music. Who knows….. A short mini-tour (with Brian and Roger) might work with Adam’s schedule. It is definitely interesting….. Wink

  6. nkd says:

BB totally misinterpreted Roger’s comments about Adam. Adam has no plans to front the tribute band. I think he would happily perform with Queen again anytime.

  7. luval says:

Hi HK fan…I’ll tell my list when it’s over. So far only have two…Feeling Good studio version and I Just Love You.

  8. riskylady says:

I just think they wrote the paragraph in misleading way. Roger is finalizing the tribute band, which has its own vocalists (they’re planning on having 3 of each bandmember and 3 vocalists, for interchangeable performances and this band called the Queen Extravaganza will tour the US and Canada next summer). I watched the final auditions today, and they found some really good talent. (Adam should take a look at the ones who didn’t make it – band potential.)
One finalist is Marc Martel, the guy who looks like and sings like Freddie. But they don’t appear interested in having him front actual Queen. Maybe they want new interpretations for their own appearances, because they only talk about Adam, not Martel.
When Roger says “to front the band in concert” he is talking about actual Queen. They’re not planning to tour, but do do one-off events from time to time.
I would LOVE for Adam to do a couple or even one of those, and don’t think it would interfere with his schedule too much. They kept saying how “easy” it was to work with him. Of course, he probably just understands right away how to do what they want, with all his experience. And it adds a lot to his resume and cred IMHO. And, gives those who love to hear him sing rock a happy place to go to.

  9. mieps says:

I would travel to see Queen with Adam! A few one-offs would be great.

  10. Hi everyone! How are you all tonight?

Have a question that I’m hoping someone can answer. I’m looking at the Adam Lambert shop online, and I was wondering if the regular T-shirts are in womens sizes or mens sizes?

  11. AL says:

I’m looking at the Adam Lambert shop online, and I was wondering if the regular T-shirts are in womens sizes or mens sizes?

    Hey gh28!

I believe that there are different t-shirts for both men and women on that site.

If you look under “Women’s Apparel” you will find t-shirts/tops in women’s sizes. Any other t-shirts are men sizes. At least that is what I remember from others who discussed t-shirts bought during the 2010 concerts.

    Women’s Apparel:

Or if you want to be 100% sure, you can e-mail their customer service (at the bottom left of the page). Some T’s are only $10 now! Cool

  12. Thanks AL finally got to order the Burnout T-shirt from there…That’s my favorite Smile

So how is everyone feeling about getting some new music possibly this week or next??? Fingers Crossed

  13. Calgary says:

Well, riskylady, I have just spent the last 2 hours over at Queen Extravaganza! It’s fun to hear the singers and read the comments.

Here’s one that will bring us back to reality from our cozy little world here: it was part of a comment in support of Marc Martel. “I watched Adam Lambert at the music awards, pure vomit, the endless vabrato!! Too over the top for me. Stick to your own music please Adam.”

Ouch. I didn’t know there were people who don’t like vibrato! Also it’s interesting to see the differences in the competitors. Marc – one of the favorites – is kind of a very talented Freddie “sing-alike”. Then there’s Sencuk Sami Cingi who also sounds a lot like Freddie but puts his own twist on the songs, like Adam. It will be fun to see who they choose.

So then I went and looked at some more of Marc Martel’s videos including one he made of Nessun Dorma, saying that he thought the REAL singers were opera singers. Hope Adam dips his toe in that pond some day.

  14. LolaGlamb says:

Hi everyone, been reading here as much as possible, always enjoy the gang. I don’t think my heart can take all of this Adam excitement after all this down time. I’m gonna have to get into training. Also rob a bank, so I can go see every Adam/Queen performance that may occur!

Nkd: I totally agree with you about the Cologne PH/WLL performance. Absolute brilliance. Be sure to watch the whole thing, what he does with WLL at the end is hot hot hot…off to the corner with me…but if y’all watch it, I’ll have lotsa company!

  16. ultimathule says:

“if it comes off” – wth does that mean? the worldwide release? or something else?

  17. nkd says:

All that tease from Byron Cooke is about an interview. As much as I enjoy an Adam interview with Byron, that kind of teasing while we are on the edge is just unnecessary! Smirk Big Smile

Details on single coming any day now… I’m getting so excited!!!

  22. riskylady says:

Calgary, in the first hours and days after the EMAs, Martel’s fans flooded the first videos with really nasty comments about Adam, and that it should have been Marc singing, that Adam was a “usurper.” A lot of us defended Adam saying, well, Queen could have invited Marc and chose not to. Apparently they hate Adam, they see him standing between Martel and his rightful place as frontman for Queen.
(Don’t think Queen wants him as frontman for themselves, though.)
Also, a few others commented about the vibrato too. Honestly, Adam’s vibrato was very pronounced that night, more than usual and more than I ever heard before. We speculated why, but really, who knows? I thought nerves. He says TV appearances make him nervous, plus 1 billion people, plus Queen.
I did notice that Kelly Clarkson’s vibrato was a little more pronounced on the AMAs too, not as much as Adam, but noticeable. Nerves with Kelly? Rare.
I’m hoping Adam’s was a momentary thing and his voice is back to its normal mellow vibrato, but since we haven’t heard him sing……

  23. ultimathule says:

This vibrato thing is driving me nuts. I’ve posted this before – I’ll take the opinion of my son-in-law from New York – a professional classical singer – who said his voice was incredible at the EMA’s. Whatever Adam did – more vibrato than usual from him or not – it was an incredible electrifying performance that has been watched thousands of times. THAT’s what matters – how did it affect the audience? Judging by the overwhelming positive response, it was a knockout.

  24. riskylady says:

I agree, ultima, I love it too. He sounded great to me, he nailed it, and thousands and thousands loved it. Just commenting about the comments. I do like his normal, mellower vibrato better, but find nothing wrong if it’s more pronounced.

  25. mieps says:

I think he had the same kind of vibrato in Soaked (Acoustic Live) so it’s not entirely new for him.

Personally I like a bit less as well, but then again, I love his live Soaked… maybe I don’t know what I like anymore Big Frown

  26. turquoisewaters says:

I realize more and more that the Queen performance was such a win on so many levels. I still remember before being nervous and unsure of what’s to come, and then literally doing the Happy Dance after he nailed it. It instantly felt like a momentuous occasion.
The vibrato discussion I don’t get either. For me, it went great with the style of the songs.

  27. riskylady says:

Comprehensive report on Queen and Adam on Russian TV. The tweeter said they called him “glam star of a new generation.”

Good morning dcglam. Yup, hype hype and even more hype!

Funny now I don’t notice the vibrato on TSMGO whereas I thought it was really pronounced to me at first.

  29. adamized says:

Good morning peeps! Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile but my keyboard was acting all crazy but after a few days of rest it appears to be back to normal. I am also trying to keep myself from getting too totally over the top involved in every hint, nuance, tease, etc about the upcoming release. I’m still amazed that I can be so nervous for this guy who is not my flesh and blood or even a RL friend. You all know what I mean…

Just thought I’d let you know I’m still here just being a bit quiet.

Totally get it, adamized… Me, too. I try to only check in a couple of times a day. A tough balance…I want to check often enough that when the single happens I will know! but not so often that my nerves have their very own vibrato…

Hype? What hype? Considering that world domination is imminent, I think we are all very chill. Wink

  33. ultimathule says:

luval – on DDD the discussion there about the EMA’s is interesting because posters change their minds about certain parts of the performance according to what video/audio they’re listening to. Some say the amateur video sound is better – suggestion that perhaps the sound engineers left the Bieber auto-tune on – also that he was probably not getting the right sound through his ear equipment – I saw him make a pumping sound to his left midway through TSMGO. But, listening to the superb mp3 that I got through MediaFire, if anything was wrong, I certainly didn’t catch it.

  34. luval says:

Hi Adamized! I knew you were around somewhere! I’m having computer problems too. It’s in the shop right now. The infamous blue screen of death. I better get it back by the new music! Everyone knows how I detest the hype but I can’t stay away!

Ulty… I agree that the fan video vocal seemed less vibrato but I’m so loving them all it’s just hard now to view on my iPhone.

  41. riskylady says:

Ultima, nkd, I just finished wading through all those int’l articles. I especially loved this one from Poland because of the fabulous pics they chose of Adam and Freddie, and because they embedded the entire performance (actually, most of them did!)

True, mieps, I had forgotten that. Another night for nerves maybe, because they were filming for the DVD. Maybe too many Red Bulls lol.

  44. Calgary says:

Back to the Marc/Adam thing – I don’t disagree that Marc Martel sounds just like Freddie. But that’s the diff – he seems to imitate Freddie brilliantly, rather than interpreting the song through his own gut/soul like Adam does. It will be interesting to see how Adam fits into Queen’s future plans.
