After a very eventful past month for Adam and his fans, December has arrived. Adam enjoyed quite a bit of publicity during November, including an epic performance with Queen at the EMAs, a Rolling Stone interview, a mentoring appearance on Majors & Minors, and his return to the AMA stage (unfortunately only as a presenter this time around). Still no new music for us to enjoy with our holiday feasts, but all the signs currently point to the lead single from Adam’s new album being released in January.

Update 7 PM 12/14: as per Adam’s tweets today, “Better Than I Know Myself”, the lead single from his new album “Trespassing”, will be released on Tuesday, December 20th!

Enjoy the chat during this last month of 2011!

Thanks ..nkd. I haven’t committed to twitter yet. May be during my vacay.

What was Adam doing on that thong photo?

Was he kissing the ground when he got off the plane?

  2. Teri63 says:

See, this is what I love about this site. I checked in earlier to see opinions about BTIKM and saw that while they varied, everyone is still in tandem in their appreciation of Adam. No trolls have shown up to forecast his impending doom. Then, I check back in an hour or so later, and the topic is a pic of the infamous glam crack. LOL! I just love how while everyone on this site is a fan, no one is afraid to give dissenting opinions or to take time out of the flailing/fretting to have a little fun with an hysterical plumber’s pose!

  3. asifclueless says:

    Hi Teri63.
Love your posts at mjs. Hit the like button a few times.

Here is a safe haven. I was at mjs yesterday and it was fun. Today …not so much. I went there because somebody up thread mentioned about your posts there.

Now let me go to help nkd count the freckles from the glam crack.

It looks like a thong to me luval! Grin

Ron, I think like with most songs, when you actually hear the official version, it will be a lot better. I love the song, it’s totally unexpected coming from Adam and I appreciate him changing it up and giving me something I didn’t know I wanted.I say wait till Tuesday and hear the official release and decide if you like. If you don’t, it’s okay, because I am pretty sure Adam will have something else you will like on his new album.

I wonder if iTunes will crash on Tuesday Big Smile

I wonder if iTunes will crash on Tuesday

I’ve been wondering the same thing especially after twitter the other night!

  8. Teri63 says:

asifclueless: Thank you! Yeah, I enjoy reading both sites, but it does get a little tiresome sometimes either feeling defensive or being driven to literally defend on sites where trolls lurk.

  9. Ron says:

Give my very best regards to the Duke, little dutchess! I hope one day we’ll be able to share dinner again!

    You’re absolutely right, bridgette12!

I should think that I’m the worst person to offer an opinion for just about any music!! I consider myself, as far as music goes [but it’s beginning to extend to other areas Big Smile] an old dinosaur! Turtle <— Well, that's as close as anything that I could find. ROTFL

I'm extremely limited in the kind of music that I can appreciate. My mother would buy Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand albums … and, for some inexplicable reason, The Harmonicats. Big Smile She played "easy listening" music on the radio and loved Peggy Lee. This was the kind of music I was brought up on, so to speak. Now, you might think as I got older that I would expand my horizons a bit but … I didn't. The only time I "strayed" was to ask Mom to buy "Meet The Beatles". Wink Their albums were the only ones I had, no other rock groups, until they went all psychedelic on me. Big Smile I would go to friends homes after school to, for all appearances, "do homework together" but all we did was listen to records. Smile They'd play The Beatles, at my home, I'd put on Barbra Streisand. Grin I'll never forget the first time I did that and the faces on those kids when they asked, "Who is THAT?!" Then, when I simply showed them the album cover, it turned to, "WHAT is that?!" Well, kids can be cruel! Wink

Anyway, short story long Heh … don't listen to me when it comes to music. Snicker

    Poop.

I chose a bad day to stay away from fandom.

    I missed the song leak.

I missed the buzz about the new release date.

I missed the arrival at Shanghai.

    I missed the plumber shot.

    I just have one word.

    THONG.

    THONG?????

Oh My. ….. I’m off to the corner.

  11. luval says:

Anybody post this? Video is now taken down. (not really a video but you know what I mean).

  12. glambotgram says:

So it wasn’t the new “Lane” in the pictures, Sorry, I was just posting what it said under the pictures on twitter.

I am Shock that there is misinformation out there. Wink

  13. luval says:

glambotgram…the blondish guy could possible be the new Lane. Double duty as bodyguard and man servant.

Wonder whatever happened to all the photos Lane took of Adam at every stop? Probably the same place as the Paris pictures. Frown

  14. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, don’t feel bad about your musical upbringing. I was raised on Opera. And Broadway cast albums of musicals. The first album I ever bought on my own was the Partridge Family! From there I was on to The Carpenters and John Denver. After that, it was Elton, Billy Joel and the BeeGees. I missed the Rock era awash in Bread and Fleetwood Mac. College in the early 80’s and MTV got me going into classic rock and MTV staples. I’ve never looked back. I’m a rock, pop and blues fan for life.

I do admit though, while searching my radio for a “decent” song the other day, a Carpenter’s Christmas song was playing, and I did stop to enjoy the majesty of her voice.
What a sad loss that was. I remember when she died so well.

So, Ron, my record collection was somewhat eclectic.

Elvis. Harry Belafonte. Fiddler, South Pacific, ( and many many others), Cabaret, Rocky Horror, Earth Wind and Fire, Led Zeppelin, Stones, Tina Turner, Prince….and now….Adam

  15. turquoisewaters says:

I missed the leak too. And my pure mind interpreted the picture as a belt and belt loop.

  16. Ron says:

    Hi mils!

Your tastes grew over time to include many different types of music. I’m still back in the 1950’s and 1960’s! Big Smile

  17. sparkle says:

Ron – You just beat me to it. I just found it!! What do you think, mils?

  18. milwlovesadam says:

    Love it.

    But.

    Needs more WAIL.

    IMHO

I do think that in my car, or with a better sound system, turned up to 11, or on the X Factor stage, it will be awesome.

  19. milwlovesadam says:

I’ve been catching up. Missed a lot in one and a half days.

I see that Bruno Mars collaborated on the CD. All that twitter bromancing was not for naught.

Anywho, Bruno’s performance of It Will Rain on X Factor was absolutely freaking incredible. Again, IMHO. And, if Adam were given that treatment of this song, WOWEEEEEE!!!

  20. turquoisewaters says:

Wow, finding the full song leak was really easy. I don’t think I should post a link here but if you can type in a google search you should be good. I am reassured. Sounds good to me, very radio-friendly. Dance-friendly too if you use the “dance” definition of today’s teens.

    I don’t think I should post a link here

Laugh See my 5:37pm post, turquoisewaters

    Glad you like it!

  22. turquoisewaters says:

Ron: I saw. My source was a lot less official.

  23. HK fan says:

Turquoisewaters, it looks like a belt and belt loop to me too! and didn’t Adam say he’s a briefs type of man…..or commando!!

  24. sparkle says:

    I love it too!
I just don’t like or understand the very end because it’s just not the type of song that is well suited to that quick “drift off” treatment. Maybe that’s what’s best for radio (as someone said) and if that’s the case, fine!

  25. JOJOSIE says:

The full song is now on Adam Official so if you missed it previously you can hear it there. This older (than 29) lady had to work today so I got home too late to hear it from my twitter feed. I like it so far with only 2 listens but we’ll see when I actually have the I-tunes version on Tues.

Ron: I saw. My source was a lot less official.

Oh! Sorry turquoisewaters, I misunderstood you! Shut Mouth

  27. Ron says:

There’s one thing about the song that I can say I LOVE very much and it’s Adam’s background vocals! There are a few vocal gymnastics that he does, as only Adam can do, that are wonderful!

I think he should put the background in the foreground and the foreground in the background. Silly

  28. milwlovesadam says:

Well. Ahem. Adam always puts out front just what he wants to put out front!

  29. Ron says:

Mils, Time Out and go sit in the corner! Laugh

ETA: Thank Gawd I corrected my mistake! I’d put an “h” in the word sit!!

  30. luval says:

Can someone bring over the Adam official Link? I’m out and can’t bring it up. Thanks

Nice to see you Kradamour!! It wouldn’t be the same around here if we didn’t hear from you until Tuesday.

  34. luval says:

    Ooo thanks kradamour.

  35. milwlovesadam says:

Okay. Now I’ve listened , um, a few times. He did put a lot out front. And quite a bit in the back.

( I posted this from the corner Ron)

Teeheee. My computer really is in a corner……

And, I’m so glad you deleted your H. My corner is very tidy.

  36. HK fan says:

OK, just listened to the AO link of the song, sounds so much better and clearer. It really grows on you, and sounds very radio friendly. Hopefully it will be a big hit for him.

  37. Kradamour says:

    Hi, peeps.
Okay, I listened to the whole thing. Once. I think I’m done now.
Sometimes, I could tell it was Adam. Mostly it could have been anyone.

I’m a little concerned that this makes two in a row (with WWFM) with similar subject matter.

It seemed a little draggy to me. I kept checking to see if it was almost ended yet. Can’t believe that I was kinda looking for a new Adam song to end, but it was a lot of sameness and repetition (to me).

Nothing groundbreaking here. It’s pretty good but IMHO def does not live up to the hype.

I think it will be excellent performed live, but that is not the point of a studio album.

I wish that something else had been the first single.
    Very disappointed.

BUT definitely I will be on AO on Monday to pre-order the album, and I fervently hope to be entirely wrong and to watch it become a megahit!!!

I am very, very glad that so many seem to like it a lot more than I do. Hoping that peeps who are not already on Team Adam see it through those eyes (and ears) and not mine.

I, too, love that we can disagree and discuss and not worry about trolls, as someone posted just a bit upthread. I would never express my disappointment anywhere else and feed those trolls…and it meant a lot to me to have a safe place to express my disappointment and know I wouldn’t be hated for it. Thanks to all who make this blog such a special place.

Okay, back to my regularly scheduled real life.

ETA: Hi, Ron! Your post was appreciated, especially in light of my lack of enthusiasm for BTIKM. I really thought that I would be able to stay away until Tuesday! What was I thinking? Smile

  38. Ron says:

Dear Kradamour, your thoughts and opinions are respected, admired and loved here. Always feel free to express and share them with us. I love reading your posts.

Very well said. I love your posts and usually at least partly agree. And I like a good discussion.
Ron: too bad you picked up on your spelling mistake in time. You always make my day.

  40. Ron says:

    Announce eywflyer!

I’m VERY much looking forward to your thoughts about BTIKM. The full version is out there so you have listened to it, right? Smile

  41. Kradamour says:

    Dear Ron,
    Back at you. Heart
    YOUR fan,
    Kradamour

Thanks, turquoise. I took a deep breath before I posted tonight.

Looking forward to reading more opinions and thoughts by all. Peace

    THIS!!!

  43. nkd says:

Wow the AO version is a lot clearer! I too wish the background vocals on the last chorus were more upfront. They sound absolutely spectacular, just wish I could hear them better.
I do love the song but can see where this was the safe choice.

And yeah, sorry y’all but I still see thong, even though he may have said briefs in the past, we all change things up sometimes! Wink

Kradamour it’s always good to hear your opinion, and everyone else’s, and it’s ok if we don’t all agree. Heart

  44. dcglam says:

Yikes….. Just got home from working all day and a dinner out. Haven’t had a chance, yet, to read through seemingly pages and pages of comments since 6:30 this morning. However, I did catch the song leak just a few minutes ago that is posted at the top of the thread over at MJ’s without reading a single comment. Count me in on Team LOVE IT!!!

I’m getting a Bruno Mars type of feel for this song, which in my opinion is a good thing. I think this is a perfect way for Adam to begin his sophomore album. I feel it has the potential to do really well on radio. It will also be very TV friendly for when he begins doing his promo gigs. Along with the killer vocals, the beat is great with a great hook. Looking forward to hearing BTIKM on my radio!!! Jump

  45. nkd says:

Ron, I was laughingsmiling at your post earlier about the music you grew up listening to, and remembering the music played at my house when I was a kid. Although the songs of Hank Williams and Marty Robbins still have a place in my brain, there is no way I could purposely still listen to those today! Now there was Barbara, Mandrell that is! Wink

ETA Ron, I didn’t mean I was laughing at the music you listen(ed) too, but that it made me recall all of that old country music my dad played loudly every Saturday morning!

  46. For all those of you who are keeping up with the Fan Club, we are all getting a chat together to talk about the new single and album… Come on in and join the fun!

  47. milwlovesadam says:

So, some random thoughts from this week:

Watching X Factor, and hearing Feeling Good. Simon’s choice for Melanie. I was very impressed. Really incredible vocal, no, not Adam’s. But very good. Wondering if Simon would have chosen that, or the obvious Muse version, if he hadn’t heard Adam do it first.

Watching Paula gush and coo over Josh, and saying again how she has never been so moved by a singer, never heard such a voice. Um. Excuse me. Has she already forgotten her friend?

Seeing The Talk today, and Sara Gilbert wearing her huge collar on her jacket, and wondering if she was influenced by her friend Adam’s similar lapel on the single cover or from the EMA’s?

  48. dcglam says:

If Adam’s 2nd album failed, he could work as a plumber. Many people would hire him 24/7. And I will keep my eyes closely to him. Just take a look.

Haha…. Funny thing about the glam crack pic. Although I do appreciate, just like anyone else, a “nekkid” pic of his hotness, my eyes were totally drawn to those surrounding facial pics in the background. They are totally hot!! Razz

Ron, I was laughing at your post earlier about the music you grew up listening to

Laugh Well, we weren’t laughing. We were enjoying. Laugh

I was “Born This Way”. Without knowing it, my mother was adding fuel to the fire. Wink Judy Garland? Barbra Streisand? Glad she didn’t like Liberace. Big Smile

  50. milwlovesadam says:

Oh. And research has revealed ( oh geez it feels so good to be conducting research again ) that HH. BB. HBIC, if you will, has bare nails because:

He picked off his polish during the flight.

Just look at the pics where he has his hands by his face. As a polish picker myself from waaay back, he still has those pesky edges in black.

I mean, he needed something to do on that long ass flight. It’s not like he was changing into his briefs or something.
