OMG…that picture of the stadium in Seoul is amazing! Looks like a beautiful area.
Robin Williams was so manic, so fast, so brilliant…but the humor came from a very dark and troubled place, I always thought. I also thought that the humor would save him, and I guess it did, for a long while, but not long enough.

Yup, mils, two weeks ago tonight we were waiting for the show to begin in 15 minutes.
Torrents are easy but can be risky…if you aren’t careful about the sites you go to and the software you use, you can be subjected to digital herpes. (My son’s term!)
Having said that, I have downloaded a number of torrents (back in 2009 the two hour ‘Story of Adam Lambert’ was a popular torrent) without any problems.
If you have a mac, you can probably download torrent files with impunity.
So…quick! is there a multicam version of Merriweather? Or another good full-concert video?

Yes, ITA He was comedic genius, cwm. A Master at his craft.
Even back in his relatively unknown Mork & Mindy days.
Perfect timing and improv. He ad-libed so much of that & many other of his acts.
It came to him so naturally, imo.
His guest stint on Carol Burnette…
(how many of us remember that? Ok, I am dating my age now. Ahem.)…
Burnette stated in an interview years ago that Robin ad-libbed almost all of entire part of his show, and as a result, actually changed the story line a bit and made the show one of the funniest & most popular they’ve ever had.

(one of my favorite movies)….
The scene where Robin’s psychologist character shares about his passed away wife… one of his fondest memories of her “passing gas in bed” (brilliant comedic entry into a very heavy & difficult scene) – all ad-lib.
Bittersweet now today…
The impact of his lifework is so HUGE.
I suppose I just needed to eulogize for a few moments.
Yes, RIP Robin Williams. You are beloved in the hearts of millions.

I’m surprised that I’m so affected by Robin Williams death. I feel very sad!
There’s a very fine line between being a genius and also being a troubled soul and Robin Williams, in spite of outward appearances, was not a happy man.
With no siblings and isolated and alone as a child, no playmates, he only had his imagination to take him to different places where he could find some kind of comfort.
In spite of all of his later success’s, that lonely little boy never left Robin Williams when he ended his life today.
So sad. He was brilliant in “Awakenings”. I love that movie, Penny Marshall’s directing, Robert De Niro and Robin Williams!

Fairly recently, I watched his live performance from 2012 (I think?).
Although hilarious, I sensed that something was just not ‘quite right’.
Tragic that he felt he had to come to terms with his pain & torment this way.

My heart hurts for Robin Williams. I’m not sure if anyone else saw one of his earlier movies called “Moscow on the Hudson”. It was a lovely film (non-comedy) in which he played a young lonely immigrant in NYC finding and loosing love. His comedy was wonderful but his drama was heartbreaking.
I remember an Inside the Actor’s Studio, where he was featured, and the audience in hysterics. He riffed using a scarf as a prop, and was insanely funny.
He had a bit about how smart children are, in which a child ( in his funniest child’s voice ) explains the intricacies of how a computer works, and then is asked how old he is, he holds up three fingers and says ” this many.”
That has become a catch-phrase in my family, with my kids, any time anyone asks how old they are, they hold up three fingers and say ” this many.” Or, if they do something out of character for them, or, just “dumb”, I ask them how old they are. “This many.”

So sad about Robin Williams, always loved him. A co worker and I were talking about him today. She was saying that one of her daughter’s favorite movies was Bicentennial Man, then we were talking about Mrs. Doubtfire. So strange to come home and hear he is dead.
Can’t believe what is happening to the videos either. I don’t think I want anything from Believe digital if that is the way they are treating us.

I have saved all the multi-cam videos (12 concerts) and have folders with a full set of almost all concerts. Only three that I couldn’t find a good set.

And another little-known movie, “Toys” was brilliant and edgy.
I loved him best in those rare vehicles where he was serious. It was too hard for me to watch his humor; it danced too close to the precipice and my heart ached for him.
I remember an interview where he promised over and over to be serious, but he just couldn’t, and his distress was in his eyes. I thought I had never seen anyone so tortured.
@luval… Can’t blame you.. it is an intriguing movie with sadness and craziness and still there are times to laugh… (e.g. when it turned out that the chalice was not as it seems to be)…
