Why can the SOBs do that? People made personal videos with their own cameras with no disclaimer at the front of the show say No vids allow and any will be removed from internet, etc.

Whispering quietly in case Believe Music hasn’t heard of Canada – at this point I can still get all those vids.Is there anything I can do to help?
Believe Music has some kind of contract with Queen, so they’re blocking lots of Q+AL vids on copyright grounds. MAYBE this means that there is a DVD in the works, which would be GREAT, but losing our fan vids sucks! Lots of TALC and cos2mwiz vids from Chicago are gone, some Toronto2 and LA show vids, some of Mark Bowles’ full show multi-cam vids, etc. – they are targeting a variety of venues and a variety of songs.
I just went in and changed the labels on my vids to make them very oblique – hopefully others are doing the same to protect their vids!
I haven’t downloaded any vids from this tour yet because I thought I had plenty of time! Hopefully downloads of the best vids have been archived on various sites! (like devanlane’s, terra’s, and Queenzone). I’m at work right now so there’s not a damn thing I can do at the moment.
Somebody has to make DVDs and CDs of the multicam videos and of the best performances so that we well have saved copies. Then we can find a way to distribute them to those of us who still need them. I can see the multi cam, but for some reason, can’t download to realpayer. Am furiously trying to download P’s vids

I know that Mark Bowles’ full-show multi-cam vids can be downloaded as torrents at queenzone.com, but I confess that I don’t know exactly what a torrent is.

I did have success downloading full show vids from Dallas and Merriweather on keepvid.com.
Merriweather is 1080, not sure about Dallas. It may be at 720. It took hours, but they did download.
I haven’t watched videos from many concerts yet as there has been very little time for that. I was hoping for things to settle a bit and savor them one at a time. May be more difficult now.
Hi guys… I don’t even know what to say about whats happening with the videos, etc. All the hard work… these favorite treasures. I’m so terribly sorry.
I’ve been furiously trying to find ways to capture them and download, store, etc. Fortunately, I can still access some of Mark Bowles and others full concerts at this point.
I’m working on a method for download that I’m testing out. If it works, I’ll post it as it’s much faster, and we wont have to worry about torrents, etc.
I will let you know and give you the info as I test it out myself.
I guess I don’t understand copyright laws well enough, but, I don’t get it.
Why is this a copyright violation? This is PERSONAL coverage of the concerts – NOT official videos or professional release that anyone is claiming/embedding?
Of course we know what it’s really all about ($$$).
I just wonder how/why can they do this – their legal basis?
Interesting timing… after the NA leg of the tour has concluded, before the overseas leg.
Please excuse my ignorance as I haven’t familiarized myself enough with these particular laws, stipulations, etc.

Have been SO wishing for one in Korea – since it’s the first concert overseas AND the first time ever for Queen in certain parts of Asia.

smalls – as I understand it, if Believe Music is planning on issuing some kind of commercially recorded DVD from these shows, then that means they have purchased some rights to the songs. Those rights give them the right to remove recordings of the songs by those of us who do not have any rights to the songs (although the recordings are ours, we don’t own the songs or the performances of the songs). Believe Music would see it as a violation of their copyright to have free versions of the recordings available that would compete with their commercial product, for which they purchased rights.
The fact that they are moving so aggressively gives me hope that there is an official DVD in the works, but it does suck big-time for all of our wonderful fan vids that so lovingly focus on Adam.
We are a very resourceful fandom, though, so people are scrambling to re-label what can be saved, re-upload to Vimeo or other sites, archive mp3/mp4’s on archive sites, etc. so although it will be harder to access them, hopefully we’ll still have the good stuff available to us.
ETA: Many here will probably recall that this same problem happened during the Glam Nation Tour, because If I Had You had just been released as a single, so the youtubes of the Glam Nation performances of IIHY kept getting yanked. So videographers came up with very clever ways to prevent their vids from being targeted and blocked, like spelling the name of the songs backwards. LOL

It’s incongruent with the title as it clearly states that the celeb makes the claim his/her self.
Adam’s is the only one that doesn’t reference/include any statement from Adam. Um, Gene Simmons?

cwm… Thank you for clarifying all that for me. What a day and age where entities can own the rights to concert footage…. and, therefore, intrude on the personal experiences of people’s personal treasured & recorded memories. That they’re not selling.
I think we can say as consumers that personal recordings would not affect our purchase of professional DVD sales… but, I understand industry attempts to protect their bottom line. It’s just business.

smalls – the area of intellectual/artistic property rights is very complicated. But if a performance can be monetized and free unauthorized recordings of those performances are available that would compete with the commercial version, then you can bet your bottom dollar that the companies who own those rights will (eventually) move to protect their investment.
I’m not an attorney, so those here who are probably know more about this than me. But at my workplace, we’ve had to learn a lot of the ins and outs of intellectual property rights as they relate to our field, and the subject is dizzying in its complexity.
Hahahaha here I am blathering on to smalls about intellectual property rights, and she’s got her eyes plastered to her screen and is drooling into her keyboard watching Crawl Thru Fire. Well at least you have your priorities straight, girl! LMAO!

It’s still a bit hard for me wrap my head around the industry actually considering these free unauthorized recordings, as wonderful & well-done as they are, actually competing in $$ sales with professionally digitized/produced releases. Particularly considering that the video focus is primarily on Adam himself.
In a strange irony… What a compliment to our fellow Glamberts and ALLers and their hard-earned, treasured recordings!
I suppose they’re banking on Adam fans consuming a large chunk towards those sales. In that regard, it makes sense. If & when they are released… I will be snatching those DVD’s up like hotcakes.

Just heard on the news that Robin Williams has been found dead in his home. He was 63.
So so sad.
What a total shock. Heart-breaking.
I’ve adored Robin Williams. SO many good memories surrounding his entertainment and contribution to the industry and our households.
He’s enriched our lives through decades of his keen acting ability and incredible comedy. What a tremendous loss.
Depression. Can be such a killer – as in this case.

Can’t believe Robin Williams is dead
OMG I am sooo sad about Robin Williams. I loved him. What a comedic genius he was. He brought so much joy and laughter to our world. What a huge loss. I hope he knew how beloved he was. But it’s doubly sad to hear that he was battling depression and feeling so tortured that he saw no other way out.
Rest in peace now, Robin.
Suicide is suspected in Robin Williams. Just saw it on my news.
I saw him live once in a local improv troupe called Comedy Sportz. Started in my city by Dick Chudnow, and I was there for the show, ( circa 86-88 )and Robin Williams popped in as a surprise, he was in town, his now ex-wife ( his previous nanny ) was from a suburb next to mine, and he just took over, OWNED that stage, and I have never, ever, and I mean ever, laughed so hard. It was painful, my face hurt, my ribs ached, he was relentless, never let us even breathe. I think I may have wet myself a bit. But heck, the whole audience was falling over. Who would notice? I was right up front and scared to death that he would pull me on stage. What a memory. RIP.

I was just watching Who Do You Think You Are? And they were showing Toronto with Rachel McAdams, and I got lonely for that wonderful wonderful place. Two weeks ago tonight, Toronto 2.

Don’t “they” know that these vids help build a fan base? It seems it would be in the best interest of Queen + Adam to keep them up.
Videos on You Tube will not decrease attendance at shows, nor will it harm sales of professional DVD’s. Methinks quite the contrary.
