Why would his hair look ginger? He’s had it this darkish brown with gold highlights since the iHeart Awards, all through the tour…j/s.

Just listened to the interview with Brian May. Thaks so much Kradamour for bringing it over. Where did you ever find it? It is from 4 years ago,when his book came out, so no mention of Adam or touring, of course, but the comment he made about writing songs for singers rather than for the guitar parts was interesting, and maybe sheds a little more light on why he appreciates Adam’s voice so much. It must give him so much pleasure to hear his own songs sung by such a VOICE.

luval, I thought I’d read somewhere where Brian had mentioned struggling with arthritis, inflamation and joint pain in various parts of his body. Makes what he’s doing even that much more exceptional. I’ll try and fine the interview/article associated with those statements and bring them over.
Honestly, this man just amazes me.
Brian has such a gentle spirit, but seems to also embody the heart of a lion. Especially evident when he comes to the defense of something/someone he loves.
His straightforward, unabashed, very public love & affection and support for Adam just warms my heart. Feels sooo good to read and hear his words that he sees Adam for who he is and not only accepts and praises him, but also takes an active interest in Adam’s career and view in the public eye. I read also that Brian is the one who gave Rufus the offer to perform with Queen. Love how he personally takes an interest in people and frequently tries to promote them and speak in to their lives. It’s a very special quality within a person to do that.
His various sites and blogs demonstrate how he personally acknowledges and replies to so many who write into him; encouraging them with specific & positive words about what they wrote – taking time with each one – their talents, goals & dreams, and gives them additional insights & tidbits.
He is a mentor of people. Likely some of his teacher (professor) nature coming through. mega Kudos.
He’s not only acutely intelligent, exceptionally gifted as a musician and songwriter… but, also seems to have solid character. I’ve heard interviews where he speaks so highly of his wife, quite openly about his adoration for her, and their long-standing dedication to each other as well.
Just a solid, beautiful human being.
Not a bad fellow to know and have in your corner. So good for Adam!

In that Brian May interview that I posted (I found it when researching Brian’s feet, Rs) i was really struck by the part where he talked about their struggles to be appreciated in the US, and his thought that Freddie’s orientation may have been a part of that. Made me think that could be a part of his early protectiveness of Adam.
I am so glad that I have “discovered” Brian via stanning Adam.
So if we are singing Brian’s (so very well deserved) praises here, I just want to recount a little story that happened to me that sort of involves him. Forgive me if you heard it before. After the second Hammersmith concert, when I was walking out, I passed a middle aged man speaking to one of the ladies who worked in the theater. Since it is always interesting to hear what the staff of these venues think about Adam, I waited till they were done talking and then I asked him if he enjoyed the show, to which he answered that he works for Brian! So I asked him what he thought of Adam, and he said, (surprise, surprise) that he has a fantastic voice, but then he went on to talk about what a really nice guy he is. I agreed that he is and said that we had come from all over to see him sing with Queen and to please send him our love. When I think back on it now, it also reflects on Brian, Roger, the type of people they surround themselves with, and the things that they value in people. When you see so much fighting, back stabbing, jealousy, and just plain nastiness in the entertainment business, and music in particular, it is so good to see people who value kindness, generosity, and honesty, in addition to talent. Like moths to a flame, Adam seems to attract those kind of people to him. Hm, wonder why…
I knew that Queen’s popularity in the States plummeted after the “I want to Break Free” video came out. I don’t even think that it was because of Freddie. He was always outrageous in the way he dressed and presented himself, but the whole band dressed in women’s cloths for the vid, since it was a parody of Coronation Street, England’s most popular soap opera. The Brits loved it but the Americans didn’t know the show, or British humor for that matter, and all they saw were this band dressed up in drag. MTV, radio stations, etc., or whoever was responsible for showing the videos at the time, didn’t know what to do with it and didn’t want to show it because it looked too gay. I imagine that they couldn’t come right out and say that, for fear of sounding homophobic, so they probably just began playing their songs less and less in general. Once the downward spiral began it was probably hard to reverse the tide.
I wasn’t in the States at the time, so diehard Queen fans, please correct me if I am wrong.

BTW, I agree that Adam’s hair definitely had a ginger hue when in the full sun light shots from his light bulb excursion. He looked gorgeous in the club pics from last night. His hair did look darker with just some highlights and longer too! Hope he keeps away from the clippers for awhile.

So I just went back and watched a glamnation concert, one of the first ones. The comparison to the Queen production was staggering…glamnation was almost on the level of a high school production, Adam had to do a lot with very little, and he did plenty!

Thank you, asmallworld, getting used to the eye. This week start the process for the other one, and probably new glasses to improve distance vision. So glad I saw Adam up close before this surgery…his features would not have been clear to me.
Risky, keeping you in thought and prayer. I have struggled with vision issues for my whole life, and am facing some now. It is amazing what they can do, now…excited for you!
