   Thanks for the smiley pic, riskylady. It’s funny how we sometimes read expressions in photos as indicative of Adam’s broader state of mind. It’s part of loving someone and wanting them to be happy but it can make you anxious, too.

   A Canadian filmmaker who made a documentary about piecing together the fact that the father who raised her wasn’t her birth father (her mother had had an affair and was since deceased) said that her biggest take-away was to look as happy as possible for pics because she didn’t want her daughter to experience the same kind of angst when looking at family photos; wondering if evernybody was okay or not.

   Adam’s life has been eventful over the last 5 years, starting with the disappointing Idol finale and working its way though OUT and the AMA’s towards the triumph of the QAL tour. Most of us would confess to checking out photos and videos at different times for reassurance that he was okay. Guilty.

   Thank you for mentioning this, TLKC.

   So true about it being about love and just wanting the best.
   My thoughts on absence of smiles in the photos included the awareness that Adam’s posing changes depending on the mood & setting and the moment with friends, etc. Likely, they were all prob. doing the “serious’ thing for fun, effect.
   I agree, he’s really doing great!

   I think it was just something else that I felt… nothing big…no smile in the eyes, it seemed? The joy we’re used to seeing in those beautiful eyes of his (even in “serious” poses) was subdued, perhaps? Just a little something different, maybe. Likely a little let down from the tour – adjustment; as was mentioned. Anyway, I don’t mean to project or “see” something that isn’t there. And ‘course I don’t truly know the things Adam feels/thinks as I’m not in his heart & mind.

   I will say, though…to be transparent… there are times I’ve wondered about the possibility of his loneliness & it brings little pangs to my heart.
   (Am I the only one who wonders this?)
   We all know that no amount of fame or money… even plenty of people around can’t touch a particular loneliness at certain times in life. Adam has indicated how deeply important emotional intimacy is to him – the close, everyday connected-ness in an intimate relationship. So very relatable. It’s important to us all.
   Though, not everyone is capable of the depth of passion and love he demonstrates, and his appreciation of deeper emotional connection in relationships. How many pop/rock stars do we hear literally say, “Its really ALL about the intimacy” to represent his primary relationship? Even with his career & life being remarkably busy… it doesn’t take the ache for that special companionship away.

   Working with people through the years from all walks of life – whether public figure, attorney, housewife, doctor, teacher, entertainer, pro athlete – they’ve shared that commonality and have felt the same way.

   So, yeah… it’s just love and a wee bit of concern of: is he really happy…down deep?

   … No negative assumptions meant on my part. Sorry if it bothered anyone. Just love him as a person. As we all do! Guilty.

   I also want to jump on the bandwagon and profess my undying love for Brian May. He is remarkedly talented, intelligent, generous,and genuine. His love for Adam and his joy in performing are a wonder to behold. I was standing only a few feet from Brian at 3 of my concerts. He had this incredible aura of happiness surrounding him especially when he was performing his guitar solo. I can really see it in my concert photos of Brian, which are among my favorites. (rs– I love your Brian photos too, and am looking forward to seeing your full set). I love Roger too. I feel that he has an equally generous spirit but is less of an open book compared to Brian.

   A friend from work, who went to some of my early Adam concerts with me, took me to see Peter Frampton 3 years ago. He was on stage for the whole concert, which lasted 3 hours with a 30 minute intermission. He had a very long guitar solo in mid concert which was quite good. I agree that he does belong in the group of impressive older guy guitarists.

    At the very end of the song, when Adam does his last few words, I don’t know the term for it, but, he does a vocal maneuver that he did in Feeling Good. it is like he is sliding up and down vocally and squeezing it out. There has to be a name for this. 14:48-56. Unreal.

    This has to be, by far, the best STL of the tour. And I was there. Still cannot get over it. Well, to be perfectly honest, Toronto 1 was pretty amaze-balls too.

    I just cannot believe the talent. After all these years.

    It’s as though he was putting all the little touches…each nuance … everything he has to offer in his STL repertoire for this STL performance.
    I love how he added mouthing the “Somebody? Can anybody…?” toward the end.
    He does that especially well in this one. Makes me laugh every time.

    Even Brian inserted more ad-lib and a bit of extra flare to his playing in this one. Perhaps knowing the NA finale just had to have it.

    Amazing for you that you were there! How unforgettably special.

    Truth is I have been so physically and mentally below-par after our intense 24 dates in the USA I just haven’t been able to get it together. It’s as if the body (and soul) complies through all the high demands, and then, given the chance to rest, just implodes.

    Still, I’m just about ready to get back out there. I’ve been attempting to strike a balance … between total rest and enough exercise to keep the muscles fit enough to jump back in the ring in Korea and Japan. If I’d not touched the guitar in this break, my left hand finger ends would have gone soft and probably blistered in Korea in the humidity. But if I’d kept playing at the same intensity as on tour, those swollen finger joints would have stayed bad. As it is, I’m not bad. The worst casualties were probably my FEET ! They are still very messed up, but that won’t stop me running around in the Far East and Australia !

    I think it’s quite considerate of you and normal to want Adam to have his privacy and be able to carry on a somewhat normal activity such as publicly shopping at a local light bulb store without being hounded by paps, opportunistic bystanders & fans.

    Interestingly, the pics are posted by ‘daisy roots’. Not sure if anyone on this site knows her (or him?). She/he does post pretty amazing candid pics and seems to have some sort of connection to paps’ sources. From what I have seen, uses good taste in selections of Adam pics.

    This. To witness Brian and Roger so visibly touched and see them appreciating this chance to tour one more time made the concerts so very special to me. I have been listening to the music of these men since I was about ten, and it was a real privilege for me to see them live.

    At 32, he has to be wondering if that person is out there.

    And then the lovely post of the photo with Alisan Porter!
    A reminder that even though he has no special someone – yet! – he has dear and special friends that he keeps close in his heart – and he in theirs.
