As July ends, so does a fantastic series of concerts by Queen and Adam across North America. It will be a summer that many ALLers will never forget! Q+AL take a few weeks break before heading off to Asia and then for concerts Down Under. If the reception there is anything like it was here, Q+AL can expect to get some major loving!

    mils – thanks so much for posting that vid of STL from Toronto 1. You answered my question! That was the first time that Adam took us to the Church of Glam Rock – I had wondered what performance that was.

    “Church of Glam Rock. You ready for this shit?” Gawd I love it!

    ETA: Gah. Been watching STL vids (thanks riskylady for the Las Vegas vid also!). As I said to my hubby at the San Jose show, experiencing Adam sing STL like that live in person was worth the price of admission alone.

    ETA2: STL at the IZOD Center in Jersey was really awesome too. Jesha84 has a great recording of it.

    It was so validating, you know? We have known for 5 years that Adam is something really really REALLY special, and the rest of the world hasn’t necessarily caught on. But to hear Brian say all the things he said about how extraordinary Adam is, beyond all reasonable expectations – that’s Brian May from freakin’ QUEEN, y’all – it just feels so validating deep down inside to know that we’ve seen and appreciated that brilliance all along.

    I know cwm. I adore Brian. In addition to being so close to Adam in two of my three concerts, the chance to be within feet of that singing guitar was a mesmerizing experience (and I have some amazing photos to prove it). I have been a hardcore fan of Adam’s for five years, but it is just since he hooked up with Queen that I really discovered Brian (and Roger). Every day, as I learn more and more about this brilliant, multifaceted, gentleman, I love him more. And his outspoken love, support, and appreciation for Adam is the icing on the cake!

    rs – yes, I have come to adore Brian, too, not only for his love for Adam, but for his tremendous intellect, his tremendous talent, and his tremendous heart, which he expresses so honestly and openly and completely. He really is an extraordinary person. I felt terribly privileged to be able to see him perform so close up on multiple occasions.

    Roger too, of course. I have less of a sense of him since he doesn’t say as much and he’s mostly behind the kit, but when he comes out onto the B-stage and you can really see him, the warm, mischievous sparkle in his eyes is unmistakable.

    twilightmagic8 – thanks for the memory regarding TFM. I had forgotten about the initial reaction that Brian had to hearing Adam sing that song. Smile

    I have lost track of where the “Q” is on his arm! Am really curious about where this new tat is heading. Hope it makes sense if you know what I mean. I was never a freckles person but it would be nice to keep the one arm somewhat clean.

    And the hair…what can I say. it’s all shaved and ready for the next few weeks out of the country. I have thanked the universe in the Church of Glam Rock that he at least keeps the top/front longish.

    Guess he never really did buy any lightbulbs! They are gorgeous and I love the photos too. Am going to send them to someone who thinks I am nuts to look at these things…surprise! lol!

    And Brian May. I agree with all of you on how much I love him. Never in a bazillion years would I think that “I love Brian May” would ever be in my conversation every day.

    Watching a STL video you can always see the people with the stage seats. In the beginning I thought how stupid is that! But now I am jealous! And love to see the guys there and the happiness and joy on everyone’s faces.

    And Ron…great rendition of What the World Needs Now. And man, do we need that. Watching the news this morning is just sad. Isis, Gaza, Ebola…what the hell will happen next?

    And I was privileged to hear a track that the guys have finished for Adam Lambert … a song for a forthcoming film, 2012. I have to say I was completely blown away … it’s truly sensational. In fact it’s so obviously a number one smash, any bookie would be mad to take bets on it. I am not kidding. I’m not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists … but Adam’s voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. Its an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star.

    I am on the Brian May / Roger Taylor bandwagon. With all the reminiscing, I thought back to that AI finale. They didn’t just walk out on the stage and sing together–there had to be rehearsals too. I’d bet they got a little treat of what Adam could do during rehearsals or sound check. It actually gives me a little more respect for Kris–how hard it had to be for him to go out and participate with the Queen performance knowing that Adam could blow him out of the water if he wanted to. No wonder his first words after winning was his opinion that Adam should have won. I don’t think he was just being “nice” but was acknowledging the truth.

    I appreciate that Brian and Roger were patient enough to let Adam get his own career started. After all, time is not standing still for those guys, even though it is treating them kindly. Bless them for getting his name out there and getting people to actually listen to him and be amazed at his talent.

    I think it would be hard for Adam to come back from the phenomenal performances with Queen to trying to get the media on board for his third album with little success. Surely it won’t be as difficult this next time.

    Brian and Roger have said in an interview that they are still writing music. I hope Adam is soaking up some tips from them to kick his own music up a notch. Perhaps they will collaborate on writing some new music for a new album with Adam. It’s an exciting thought!

    Thanks for the smiley pic, riskylady. It’s funny how we sometimes read expressions in photos as indicative of Adam’s broader state of mind. It’s part of loving someone and wanting them to be happy but it can make you anxious, too.

    A Canadian filmmaker who made a documentary about piecing together the fact that the father who raised her wasn’t her birth father (her mother had had an affair and was since deceased) said that her biggest take-away was to look as happy as possible for pics because she didn’t want her daughter to experience the same kind of angst when looking at family photos; wondering if everybody was okay or not.

    Adam’s life has been eventful over the last 5 years, starting with the disappointing Idol finale and working its way though OUT and the AMA’s towards the triumph of the QAL tour. Most of us would confess to checking out photos and videos at different times for reassurance that he was okay. Guilty.

    Adam is doing what a lot of new home-owners do; looking for ideas which will at some point will gel into well considered purchases. He may have some assistance on the home décor front and opportunities to get things wholesale, as well.

    LOLS on the light bulb pop-ups Kradamour. Online consumer tracking is so obvious. I am routinely inundated with invitations to check out gay dating sites based on frequent Adam searches.

    I’m on board for more Queen collaborations but Adam’s next cd needs to be released in a timely manner if he is to benefit from the QAL after-glow and increased audience. Here’s hoping for back-in-the-studio by late September and a single in the early new year, followed by the release of CD3.

    I always feel guilty when I look at a series of photos like this, that were clearly made without Adam knowing he was being photographed (until that one photo going to the car when he seems to be looking right at the camera, and has – to me – just the littlest bit of a sneer).
    A series like this is more intimate and more invasive than a single snapshot.
    Dunno. Maybe it’s just me.
    Of course it isn’t enough guilt to not look at them.

    Just enough to give me a twinge of conscience after the fact.

    The new tat looks symmetrical to the ribbon of the Q on the other arm. It looks like a new ribbon in the works.

    I’m using the word “ribbon” because the tip of the Q looks like a pretty ribbon to me.

    Back from RL…So much fun reading all your posts… starting from nkd’s Killer Queen list, CWM’s tidbits, luval’s white pants analysis and milwlovesadam needing a break… Yeah to see Kradamour again. Finally I got to see the part in MSG where Adam said :” hi mom”…thanks asifclueless.

    milwlovesadam hopes for Wembley… I am hoping for Singapore for egoistic reasons (only 1,5 hour flight) and Rio… just because Adam has not been performing in South America yet.

    Finally finished uploading my videos from the Q+AL show at the NJ IZOD Center! I was on the aisle right next to B-stage and had a fabulous close-up view of everything that happened on that stage, so I only took vids of the action on the B-stage. My camera is apparently quite temperamental, however – sometimes it did great, sometimes it acted up. Anyway, here you go!

    Those Dragon Attack performances…. Unbelievable!!
    Worth an entire thread on their own.
    How fun to dissect and explore each and every facet of these performances. MmmHmmm. In Love

    It’s hard to decide which one I like better – AC or Toronto.
    Both are just over the top incredible. Both have the WHOLE package. Adam’s incredible vocals, Bri and Roger rock us hard on both in their signature way…. Adam teases us so mercilessly with his moves and expresses the lyrics flawlessly.

    If I was present in one or both of them (like some of you fabulously lucky folks Grin) it would be a much easier choice, I think.

    The, erm… “dancing” is such a treat in the Atlantic City performance.
    … Those swivels at the mic… the bouncies…. My oh my… those bouncies… Razz Drool

    And then, Toronto…. Has mostly the same but there’s the overall musicality of it. Adam was was so smooth at it, having done it again already. Brian & Roger were razor sharp… Adam’s singing was, well, Adam’s blow-your-mind singing.

    Both were achingly sexy….

    I say perhaps?:

    Atlantic City for Adam’s moves.

    Toronto for overall musicality.

    – Jury is still out.

    I have always thought this. Maybe he’s always hated his freckles. I always hated my stark white skin that will never tan so I cover up. I will never wear a bathing suit. Laugh

    That surely doesn’t look like a recent picture but I guess it is. Black hair, black stache . Must be the lighting.
