As July ends, so does a fantastic series of concerts by Queen and Adam across North America. It will be a summer that many ALLers will never forget! Q+AL take a few weeks break before heading off to Asia and then for concerts Down Under. If the reception there is anything like it was here, Q+AL can expect to get some major loving!

    The Queen + Adam Lambert is becoming a 2014 version of “spot the volkswagon.” Guess the company has delayed removing the skin from the tricks. They didn’t put them on until a few days into the QAL tour. Either timeliness is not their forte OR they are picking up their tour in the US again after their Downunder stint. Empty pockets says: “Oh noooooooooo’s.”

    Where would they go? Is there a possibility that some of us will be sharing a meal at Jamaica Kitchen before Christmas?

    About the Queen + Adam Lambert truck … My guess is that the truck driver had so much a great time on tour that he didn’t want to remove the sign.
    Like … Look at you … Wink … some crazy ladies from here who were baptized by the fountains of youth didn’t want to wash their clothes. … Just kidding! I’m jelly … though.

    Thank you, HK fan, corrected my original post to include cheongsams. Should have remembered! When we were stationed at Subic Bay Naval Air Station in the 50’s my mom and dad went to Hong Kong 3 times and she brought back several very beautiful ones. She was quite guilty of “cultural appropriation” learning to cook Philippine, Thai and Chinese dishes and also had several gorgeous hand-painted organdy and piña silk Philippine ternos and Filipiniana gowns. I took hula lessons and learned some Tagalog and Ilocano.
    But my real “cultural appropriation” came when I married a Nicaraguan and went to live there for 20 years. They said I was more Nica than the natives. Ohhhh, bad bad bad Devil Evil Grin

    Thanks for the article asif. Ideas on cultural appropriation vary and are bound to create divisions. It’s all in the way we deal with them. As Adam says, “when it comes from a place of love and celebration, not hate….we should rejoice”.

    Well, Brian and Roger have confirmed the fountain of youth part and the drivers did say that they were enjoying a kind of celebrity-hood while they were driving those trucks. Maybe they enjoy all the “crazy ladies” beeping their horns and waving at them. Not so much for STYX or Journey trucks…

    Let’s face it, no one wants to wash this tour off themselves yet, not even Brian from the sound of that Eddie Truck interview. BTW, that interview was a tough slog to the Brian May part.

    Amen, ulti. That whole 18 min segment was just chuck full of Adam praises and enjoyable things Brian has to say. He’s always so interesting to listen to – very eloquent. Love hearing how completely taken Brian & Roger are with Adam. Grin Normally reserved, Brian doesn’t hold back at all about the gift Adam is.
    “JOY” brought up multiple times. Brian saying, “He woke us up!”.
    I was smiling through the entire 18 minutes.

    If anyone hasn’t heard the interview yet, you’ll want to take the time – it’s a great listen! Did anyone else besides me hear a whiff of possibility there might be more than one song (LK) featuring Adam on the “Queen Forever” album? Fingers Crossed

    Seems suspect, yes. QAL just belongs there, imo. They’re currently touring and QAL is a huge event in the music world, right now.
    Wouldn’t powers that be be wise to cash into this while it’s fresh and hot?
    “Once in a Lifetime” Tour most likely means just that!
    I guess my question is, Why WOULDN’T they have QAL in half-time?

    Read on twitter yesterday that the crown has a velvet foam lining in it to keep from falling off his head. Here is a picture where supposedly you can see the lining. I can’t on my cell phone but maybe you can.
