As July ends, so does a fantastic series of concerts by Queen and Adam across North America. It will be a summer that many ALLers will never forget! Q+AL take a few weeks break before heading off to Asia and then for concerts Down Under. If the reception there is anything like it was here, Q+AL can expect to get some major loving!

    Oh. Hi. I’m popping in from Toronto. One week ago at this time…sigh. Was it really just a week?

    That Somebody to Love was unchained. Unreal.

    I’m wondering if we should start compiling a “best of” the North American Tour. But, honestly, every single song, every single performance was great. He didn’t miss a single note, nothing fazed him, no glitch, no malfunction, nothing.

    We saw the Chicago mic fail.
    We saw fringes slipping.
    We saw mic packs fall out of his pocket.
    We saw fringes on his head.
    We saw the curtain fail to rise.
    We saw the crown slip.
    We saw a cast get spit on.
    We saw a drum stick poke somebody.
    We saw a fan not want to open.
    We saw him slip on his cat walk.
    We saw terrible segues.
    We saw Jimmy Crack Corn.
    We saw him not care.
    We saw his white pants nearly lose their cargo.

    In fact, the whole tour we saw pants abuse.

    Yes.

    Pants abuse.

    I mean, really.

    How much can an inseam take?

    Methinks he’ll likely pop a few stitches in Asia and down under.

    It’ll be the laces fiasco all over again.

    Jimmy Crack Corn at Merriweather, for example.
    The first spew of ‘champagne’.

    Love the Heytrish photos, ulti.
    How can one man be the subject of so many incredible photos? No camera skills at all required to get a good pic, and a professional photographer can’t possibly go wrong. Even the photos of him just standing still have a “life” to them that is hard to explain or even to understand…

    What is going to be the hardest is favorite version of a particular song. Killer Queen, Somebody to Love and Who Wants to Live Forever will be tough for me.

    Krads, he had fringes on his head in Killer Queen in Toronto 2. LOL. He was less than six feet from me at the time. He just pretended it wasn’t there. But, during the lyric “fastidious and precise” he flicked it off. Perfect.

    One of my favorite KQ moments was in Toronto 1, when he mimicked “Brian May” and rolled his eyes. Sooo funny. But, I think he did it first in Detroit the night before.

    And I think Toronto 1 had the longest STL note. 15-16 seconds. Please correct me somebody if I’m wrong. ‘Cuz I just looove that note………

    Best twirl? Maybe Toronto 1. It was so smooth, so perfect. He did it like an ice dancer, arms close in, fringes were flying, gah. Love the twirl.

    Remember how I NEVER heard Adam anywhere on a radio or streaming music in a store?
    Today WWFM in KMart. (Yes, I shop in KMart, I love it. And KMart stock has been good to us, it paid for our first condo in Maine.)
    Yesterday WWFM in Rite Aid drugstore.
    Unfortunately, it is the song I would LEAST like to hear, but hey! Adam on the soundwaves!

    To be totally honest, one of the take-aways is that he SPIT. He Spewed. He let loose with a stream of water.

    And we WANTED to get hit with it.

    We tried to get seats in the spit zone.

    “Spit Zone” became tour vernacular.

    I simply cannot imagine wanting to get hit with anybody’s spew.

    I’ve heard WWFM and Queen a lot lately.

    A co-worker was asking me the other day about my concert going adventures, and she commented that she has been hearing Queen much more than usual on the several classic rock stations in our area. I said, well, maybe it’s because they are on tour now. She wished she had tried to get tickets to Chicago, her husband is a Queen die-hard.

    mils….. that was so cute when he had that fringe stuck across his head/face, I kept waiting for him to flick it off but he waited a bit…..

    I have to say that with that list of ‘incidents’, the performances were even more pleasurable and endearing, making us adore him even more. I love how he handles little pratfalls, totally nonplussed but with an eyelash flutter or a pouty mouth or a mischievous grin, or with his silly ‘white men can’t dance’ dance moves.

    That’s why we can/need/want to go to so many concerts and still be surprized and entertained – he makes every one different. So many ‘outsiders’ just don’t get that factor about Adam’s stagecraft.

    Thanks for that list, I just don’t know how you can remember everything so easily, but I’m really glad that you do and you do it so lyrically Smile

    luval You’ve set yourself a mighty task, but I can’t wait to see which ones you pick. Especially which Killer Queen ranks highest? The crotch fanning or the back arch or the leg up – wowza!?

    Best wail used for sexual purposes.
    Best use of whole body dancing and head banging.
    Best mic humping.
    Best stirring over 12,000 people into a frenzy.
    Best audible audience groaning when the song started.

    Yup. It was good for me.

    sistakrads – We visited a poutine shop in Niagara Falls, CA. All they served was about 20 different versions of poutine!!! You would have been in heaven!

    I’ve been missing my daily chuckles & grins you usually bring me.

    And, though I wasn’t actually there with you all (dratBig Frown) …. DA is one of the hottest things I’ve ever seen. Multiple yowzas… and erm… physical reactions.

    I can’t even imagine experiencing that live.

    I ask you: How can one ever be the same!? Hypnotized

    When he was in this position at Toronto 2 and my eldest sister and I were right there standing, she in front of me because she’s shorter and all of a sudden I felt like she kinda dropped lower so I asked her if she was all right because it seemed like she had maybe felt lightheaded (faint) and was leaning heavily with her head on the bars, but she said she was just admiring the butt view from below and counting the threads on his back pockets. Whut??? Grin Shallowness seems to run in the family. Grin
