I’m hoping for an Idol announcement in the next couple of days. I’m feeling like it’s about to happen!
I’m behind on my Adam flailing. Such a busy weekend. Spent most of today shopping with my first-born for her dorm room supplies. She moves out in 3 weeks. I can’t believe it! For those of you sending your babies off to college for the first time, I’m right there with you! She’s thrilled and I’m thrilled for her, but it’s hard to believe she’s all growed up. *sniff*
rs – I hope your trip has been wonderful! You asked for a rundown on key Adam happenings. Here are some highlights of the last several days…
I can’t remember whether you left on vacation before or after the Japan appearances. If you were gone during his Japan visit, here is that visit in a nutshell:
– Both Summer Sonic shows were fabulous successes with large crowds who were very participatory and excited and did all kinds of coordinated handclaps and hand waving and Adam looked gorgeous with his silver hair and he sounded fantastic and… well, you know the story.
– He got felt up in the chest by a TV host on national TV (again – same show as in 2010 visit, same host, same chest).
– He sang a beautiful acapella version of the chorus of NCOE for a TV interviewer in a lovely Japanese garden while wearing his spiky shorts with a tank top and knee-high moon boots (LOL).
– He did a lot of shopping.
Then he and the band (sans divas) were off to the land of Oz:
– Did an intimate, stripped back gig at the Take40 lounge in Sydney, which was extremely well received. Highlight was that he sang an awesome cover of Bob Marley’s Is This Love. – Adam confirmed to an Aussie newspaper that he has been in talks with Idol and is “just waiting for the green light.” He reiterated this a couple of times in televised and radio interviews – that he had had “lovely” talks with Idol, doesn’t know anything yet, and is waiting to hear.
– Participated in all sorts of crazy Aussie antics in radio interviews, including “Celebrity Sick Bed” in which a blindfolded radio host had to figure out who Adam was by feeling him up, and “Lady Butt/Man Butt” in which Adam was blindfolded and had to figure out the gender of people’s butts by feeling them up. Oh, those quirky, crazy Aussies.
– Great appearance on the national Sunrise morning show in Oz. Sang a beautiful haunting version of WWFM and then a jazzy/funky version of Trespassing. Only had Brian with him on the keyboards (rest of the band went home), so both songs were stripped back.
– Same morning, he appeared on the Morning Show, also a national show, which directly follows the Sunrise show. There, they interviewed him at more length, and the young boy who made that great IIHY video got to meet him. Adam was awesome with the kid, of course.
– On to Melbourne. Adam did a “Guerrilla Gig,” sponsored by a radio or TV station (not sure which), which is an “impromptu” gig announced at the last minute in a location one would not expect (in this case, a plaza in front of a record store). Lots of people showed up, he sang 4 songs, then did a CD signing at the store. Very successful by all accounts – big crowd, Adam looked gorgeous, he slayed the vocals, people were thrilled, people were in tears… you know the story.
– TMZ announced that on Monday or Tuesday (can’t remember which) there would be a big Idol announcement that someone is “making a huge comeback to Idol.” Sent all of us into a new tizzy of optimism for Adam’s chances for the Idol judgeship and anticipation for the announcement. We’re all pretty much losing our minds at this point over it.
– In response to inquiries about when his new single would be released, Adam said that it’s been delayed due to “label logistics” and that it’s in RCA’s hands at this point.
How’d I do everyone? Did I forget anything important?
Here’s a new tidbit… don’t know if y’all saw this, but Adam was apparently out and about his last night in Melbourne. Here he is at a club there (can’t remember the name):

That photo that you just posted, cwm…I think we saw it sometime yesterday but wanted to comment on how short Adam looks! He normally towers over everyone. There are some big dudes down under!
Either he’s about 3 hours or 6 hours from touchdown depending on which flight he took.

cwm, the Guerilla gig was for Channel V. One of the 2 main music channels in Asia, and I presume Australia, the other being MTV. Actually channel v is better as it actually shows far more music than MTV and less crap reality shows. They seem pretty supportive of Adam, his NCOE plays most days I think, and NCOE behind the scenes.

Happy Birthday kradamour and a cupcake for you and adamized, too! Thanks for the recap cwm. I’ve been so focussed on trying to figure out Idol’s judge strategy that everything Adam has done over the last two weeks is a timeline blur. Going to give it a rest because it’s driving me nuts.
It’s kind of cool to know exactly where Adam is right now. Flight watch. Hope there are some photo’s of his arrival.

AQD title of their blog today is “Big News Coming Soon!”. I don’t remember anything about some sort of announcement of big news.

I managed to get it on after installing a plug-in for windows media player – I am damn proud I managed to do that right
So I keep it background when doing other things at home. There was Trespassing, then FYE remix and third some song I have never heard – some recording from the time before Adam got into Idol…
After some talking (not Adam interview yet) Cuckoo and By the rules (which goes excellent together with “Is this love” – same reggae vibe
I knew that about the radio station, Lady North but I was lamenting the fact that I want to hear Adam on a U.S. station, not half way around the world. The rest of the world loves him but not the USA. That song was “Kiss and Tell”. I wasn’t even sure what it was until the chorus. Haven’t heard it for a long time.
I was able to get it on itunes. I don’t understand the “plug-in’s”. Tried to install them once before for something and it messed up. Congratulations on you able to do that!

Lady North, I have never heard this cover of Adam doing “What’s Love Got To Do With it” and I thought I’ve heard everything!. But the dj’s said it was him but he was never officially given credit for it. Really sounded like him. I think it was! Nice to hear something “new”.

The big announcement on TMZ of a past Idol coming back was lame according to MJ, Jermaine Jones visited the Idols at the concert yesterday. So no past Idol as in Adam coming back.
What are they all doing to us
