Holy crap, the suspense is killing me! First Adam follows Mariah Carey, now he’s following American Idol. The TMZ/Fox5 tease. The open schedule, the “rush” back from Oz. All of the teases and hints and circumstantial clues along the way.
Twitter was melting down this evening from anticipation. I hope we hear soon or we’re all going to come apart at the seams!
Mornin’ I have been following the Idol judge story obsessively for days and praying for Ricki Minaj and country judge. I just think this is the best scenario for Adam getting it.
Imagine a seesaw: Mariah and Nicki on one side; Keith Urban on the other. Put Nick Jonas on it beside Keith Urban. How much movement? Put Adam on it beside Keith Urban. The seesaw starts to balance.
A lot of commentary on MJ’s yesterday evening was about loving Keith but wondering about the chemistry. Adam makes the chemistry work.
One more point. It may not be an accident that both Adam and Keith acknowledged talks with Idol this week.

TLKC…yes, started Thursday for 12 days. I went yesterday with a friend from work. Same old thing but I love it! I am embarrassed to say I only bought one thing (actually 2 of these “one things”). A 4 foot banana balloon! But I didn’t buy the blown up ones but folded plastic that I would have to blow up. So just in case….I hate to jinx it…a tour next year…we can hang these 4 foot bananas (striped with black tape of course) on the outside of the magic bus! LOL!
eta: of course I’m kidding about hanging them outside of the bus. They would cause a “drag” and slow us down!

OMG, if all this speculation re Idol is one big fail, I will be so pissed. It would be like they are using Adam to get all this attention and then leaving him at the alter. Going to keep positive and hope he will be selected.

glambotgram, I have been praying for Nicki. Her very presence requires a poised and confident 4th judge. Especially when Keith Urban is so soft-spoken and laid back. Nick Jonas will not balance that panel. Adam will.
If Nicki negotiations fail, Miley will be back in the mix and Kanye will be courted for the 4th spot.

Ultimathule: I was wondering about that, too. But it could be a deliberate “throw people off the scent” smokescreen. I don’t see Adam being that openly annoyed. He will continue to be nice to Idol – you never know.
Ultimathule…that is exactly what I thought this morning. Especially since he emphasized “no one”. Kinda sorta a dis to Mariah. Why would he do that? Except, of course, he’s honest with no filter and will say what he thinks.
So I came back to see what happened during the hours that I have to waste sleeping (heh)…and all the stars are aligned for Adam to judge Idol…following Mariah? following Idol? Oh, Adam, please don’t be playing with our minds…!

Twitter is making me nervous. There are some really out there fans. They are talking about trending the announcement as if it’s in the bag, which it isn’t. I don’t want to see a twitter rampage if he doesn’t get it.

We are all about the clues and connections…but it is entirely possible that Adam sees no connection whatsoever between Mariah and Xtina this morning and was simply listening to Xtina and wanted to send that out.
On another topic, we moved my younger son back to college last week and I realized that he does not have any CDs, not a single one. Everything has been downloaded legally or illegally or sent from a friend.
I asked him when was the last time he bought a CD and he looked at me as though I had grown a third ear. “Mom, why would I buy a CD? I don’t have anything to play it on.”
Good point. His new macbook pro doesn’t even have a CD/DVD drive. Clearly Apple is thinking that physical media is a thing of the past.
And Apple is rarely wrong.
Kradamour…my adult brother that went with me to see Adam said the same thing about cd’s and cd players. He does not have one in his house and won’t get one. BUT, he does have one in his car where he plays Trespassing. So I’m glad I gifted him one.
You know what you could buy him Kradamour? An iTunes gift card. That will make him buy something he wants. Good for the music industry. I did it for my nieces and nephew this year and I plan on doing it again.

Ah, the fair! Luval, I would so love to go with you! When I was in 4-H, I always entered tons of things, it was so much fun to participate – and to win the ribbons! I took a champion ribbon for my almond cookie thins…that was a HUGE deal when I was 16!
I was in the 4-H building yesterday. Love the fresh faced kids. If only they knew what was coming in the years to come. I won many ribbons for my afghans. Haven’t done anything since 2009 LOL!

Wish you were here too to go. It’s only 5 minutes from my house. Plan on going a couple more times. So much to see in just one day. The big thing this year is chocolate covered bacon. yuk. I looked for any trinkets or anything yellow and black but nothing except the bananas!
I just remembered Keith Urban was at the Fair last night. 8,100 people in the 15,000 seat arena. Had a good review.

I think Adam is really into the technicalities of singing and the voice, finessing every note (look how he tweaked the songs on Trespassing)- and he probably sees the quality of Xtina’s singing that way. And after all, every singer is unique. He could have said those same words about William Hung!
