After a very busy month of July which featured 11 concerts (5 with Queen and 6 solo – including the epic Fantasy Springs event pictured above), August begins with a short period of rest for Adam. However, as he tweeted a couple of days ago, we can expect the third single from Trespassing to be announced sometime early this month. Later in the month, Adam will head to Japan and Australia for album promo and a few concerts as well. We are also anxiously waiting to learn if Adam will be a judge or have some other regular role in the upcoming season of American Idol. In the meantime, enjoy the chat!

    Definitely NOT on the NM train….you can call it art…I call it trashy…and she doesn’t have a good voice. Sweet, maybe yes. As for the Bible Belt, The Augusta National, home of The Masters Golf Tournament just admitted it’s first two women to their club!! After 80 years! And our county just voted to allow alcoholic beverages to be sold on Sundays. I hardly think they’re ready for NM!

    kradamour, A few years back my neighbour was a little bit defensive about his son’s deep affection for lavendar clothing and I spent some time over the fence making encouraging and supportive noises while his dad worked his way through it. They moved and I bumped into them recently and the dad is now alternately proud and defensive about his son’s dance classes. I told him I watch SYTYCD and I love the muscularity of the male dancing and he was all smiles. His wife is a lovely and intelligent woman and I wonder how she deals with his evident nervousness on this subject. It’s easy when you are on the outside looking in. It’s much more difficult when it’s your kid and you have to worry about how he will be accepted.

    TLKC, gotta say I was delighted with my husband during our son’s “pink period”. He was a military officer, but just shrugged, even at the school play.

    Peeps that had reserved seats front and center, second and third row found their
    seats occupied when they arrived about an hour before Adam’s set. Instead of
    moving peeps that were wrong, chairs were crowded in further back and to the
    left of the stage. Friends weren’t happy!

    Morning!!!!!!!!!! nkd, are you still up? Are you feeling better? It appears that our BB is still thinking Idol is an option. The entire NM thing may or may not be true. Please get your ass back to the States so we can stop holding our breath. Still think Idol will give Adam so much great exposure. Still hoping it is going to happen. I haven’t read back on the thread so I’m not sure if you guys know that NM was getting pretty ugly on twitter yesterday. Could be that Idol decides she isn’t their cup of tea.

    glamberthaf28 if nothing else turns up closer to home I probably will be going to AZ as well.

    As for who’s still in the running, we’re told Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias are leading the pack.

    And there’s one other thing. Sources connected with the show say they’re worried … if the judge’s end up being Mariah, Nicki and Randy … middle America might not welcome the blackout.

    So according to that aus article, Idol have actually talked to Adam, which is more than we’ve really known for sure.

    hmmmm, the plot thickens!!!!! Come on, how much longer can they milk this cow? My guess is that this is the last season for this show. I’m thinking they should just play a re-run of Season 8 and call it a day.

    I just high-tailed it over here to bring the news about Adam saying that he had spoken to them and was still in the running!!!!! but of course someone beat me to it.

    I think the Ricky Minaj rumour is good for Adam! Demographically and musically, she’s the complete opposite of him. IMHO, he and Brad Paisley, who I now like very much after watching some press conferences, would make this a kick-ass panel.

    LOL to the ending Ron. When I was in high school Romeo and Juliet came out and I went to see that movie a dozen times. When I got close to the end I would always tell myself NVM, you can always come back and watch the beginning.

    So that’s why BB was so happy at Fantasy Springs!!! We all knew something was up.

    It is typically TMZ to put it that way, although over at MJ’s they are saying similar things a little bit more diplomatically. The truth is, an all-white panel or an all black panel would be equally unlikely for a show that strives for a broad demographic in it’s contestant make-up in order to appeal to the widest audience.

    At MJ’s, there have been some insensitive comments about two women on the panel etc. as well and the largely female posters have called it out.

    I am going over there now to put as many posts about Adam as I can – MJ’s is a key Idol blog and if Idol is monitoring reaction, they will be checking out blogs like that.

    Nothing on MJ’s so I threw the Australian article onto the Nicki Minaj thread and will wait and see what happens. LOL! I’ve had a terrible cold this past few days and took today off. Going to the doctor’s but I will “monitor the situation” throughout the day. MJ will probably do some due-diligence on the article before posting but I can’t see her ignoring it.

    For me, TMZ gained a lot of credibility and my respect the awful day that Michael Jackson died.

    I had CNN on TV and two tabbed websites online that I kept referring to back and forth. CNN and TMZ.

    TMZ confirmed MJ’s death 1 hour and 45 minutes before CNN. During that time, whenever I refreshed the TMZ page, there were more updates. Little tidbits about the children, the mother, the doctor and Janet which all later proved to be true.

    CNN on the other hand was ‘waffling’ all over the place with few updates or “unconfirmed reports” that they soon modified until finally announcing that MJ had died.

    I used to dismiss TMZ outright and treat it, as you say luval, as a “guilty pleasure”. Ever since their coverage of MJ, I’ve found TMZ to be accurate and trustworthy. Considering the way I used to feel, I’m surprised but I do think that it’s true.

    Yes, you’re right! Not that I didn’t care, far from it, but I followed the MJ reports closer than I did Whitney Houston.

    I won’t carry on any more about TMZ other than to say … I think it’s their overly casual, too laid back reporting of the news and journalistic style that tends to make people not take them seriously.

    Compared to CNN’s slick and polished presentation, there is no comparison.

    It surprises me how much/long these news about idol judges can keep going… When is Adam going to return to U.S., does anyone know? In Adam events there’s still some radio interview in Australia 27th, but I don’t know if it is taped earlier.

    OK, reasons I think Adam is one of the judges for AI.
    1 Why arent they announcing it? Cause Adam is out of the country.
    2 Was it Simon Fuller at one of the Queen shows, checking out Adam? And maybe to sign him?
    3 His hair color change, why now, to give him a new look on the show? Not to intimidate the new contestants?
    4 Like was said, after Season 8, rumors about joining Queen he said they were just rumors, (even tho they came true 3 years later)
    He has never said I am not on the panel, and he is not one to say he was in the running if he is not.
    Following Mariah on twitter ( that is soooo obvious)
    5 A job in September, and nothing scheduled that we know about for the next couple of months.
    6 Telling people in where was it, Iowa or Neb, that he will be back.
    7 His excited acting lately, we all know when he is overly excited< lol.
    8 Why is it being brought up again now, when nothing has been said about him in weeks???
    9 This exposure for him being on the show and people seeing how funny he is will be so great for his career, I so hope its true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love the play AI is getting over this judging thing. Makes me think of the new book about spin/PR by Ryan Holiday called “Trust Me, I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator”.
    One of his stories is about getting tens of millions of dollars worth of free publicity on one campaign for a company whose entire budget was $5 million for the year.

    Idol looks like it could be happening. Maybe.

    Adam did seem so certain that he would be back in the area when he talked about it at Winstar.

    The Des Moines kerfuffle with seating was like jlurks said. But, in my recap I also mentioned a seating issue in VIP. I did email the station manager about it. He appreciated the feedback.

    My question is this: How in the fr***ck does Adam manage to look so fabulous and gorgeous and be jet-lagged and fresh off a plane? Hunh?? Has anybody ever seen Mils fresh off an international flight? I’ll tell ‘ya, it ain’t pretty!!

    Update on brother in China and Queenbert. He can’t see any You Tube there with restricted internet due to the politics of China. However, he is very interested in seeing my Kiev DVD and is sure that Adam plus Queen was great. What with Adam’s “antics” and stage presence as well as his vocal skills. He won’t be home until January, but, I’ll try to remember to post his feedback then.

    I’m stunned. My brother is all about music, and actually is a rock/blues/indie snob of sorts. He thumbs his nose at pop, Top 40, MTV, VH1, and especially Idol. He’s a Queen purist, and has been for a long time. He has been reading about the reaction to Adam’s shows in several forums he access to, and is blown away by the fandom’s reactions to Queenbert. He said that if the diehards are embracing him, he must not just be very good, he must be OTT excellent!! He would love to see a show. I can’t believe it.

    I am laughing out loud of all this talk on the Idol judges on mj’s. IMO TPTB have already chosen them & are just throwing out all this spew for publicity.

    I think Adam is following Mariah only because he heard of all the fuss over here and wants to “see what she’ll say next”.
