After a very busy month of July which featured 11 concerts (5 with Queen and 6 solo – including the epic Fantasy Springs event pictured above), August begins with a short period of rest for Adam. However, as he tweeted a couple of days ago, we can expect the third single from Trespassing to be announced sometime early this month. Later in the month, Adam will head to Japan and Australia for album promo and a few concerts as well. We are also anxiously waiting to learn if Adam will be a judge or have some other regular role in the upcoming season of American Idol. In the meantime, enjoy the chat!

I would only insert one little episode….I believe from the Moscow rock festival in May 2011, Adam flew straight to London and was working with that girl on “By the Rules,” (as we now know) and during that time there were a couple of ninja fan pics with Sauli that showed up later. From there he came to Miami and was working with Pharrell for 2 weeks. Remember he told us to “figure out” what By the Rules was about? I think it was when he was negotiating with Sauli, persuading him to move to LA.
Anyway, at the very beginning the day after Helsinki, I saw the article and foto of Adam holding Sauli’s face in such a strikingly gentle way. It just was so rare to see him like that, I immediately went into full research mode, and everything I learned about Sauli, including his looks (just Adam’s type as described by him), his TV reality background (not just BB, also Fear Factor – so much in common), his likeability and sweetness as described by everyone, so two days later I announced to our email group that Sauli was “the one.” I got pooh-poohed. Ahhhhh, but revenge is sweeeeeeeet!

riskylady: In general I like to stay out of people’s choice of partners. But I also immediately had a good feeling about Sauli. He came across so sweet in those youtube videos. I also remember some voices saying maybe Adam should focus on his next album and not spend so much time on romance. I wish I could still dig out our old posts from MJs of those days.

Re Sauli…I was not on the Sauli train right out of the station. I never leap onto the “oh, it is love!” train in RL or bloglife until things have had time to jell.
Last summer I was about ready to join the train by the time we went to Ste Agathe, but not entirely. (I’m not much of a romantic).
But as I think I posted then, we were right at the fence of the narrow path that led to the production booth. Sauli walked down the path, literally two feet from us, and of course we weren’t expecting him. I was facing away from the path and turned because I felt the force of his positive energy, it seems strange and hard to describe, but as he walked past with that cute loping step there was actually a wave of energy emanating from him. (shakes head) I honestly can’t describe it, but it was tangible, like something you could reach out and touch. Positive, bright, tangible energy.
Since then, I have been totally on team Adam/Sauli.

I’m glad I had that experience. I feel that’s where you develop a lot of your character. That’s definitely where I got my sense of humor. As a kid, I needed to deflect from the fact that other kids wanted to beat me up and make fun of me, so I became the funny guy. And it teaches you a lot about life. It certainly gives you a perspective of the world you might not have otherwise.

Talkin’ about L.A. there, but I wanted to be all cryptic and well read. I’m going to visit my brother there. On Thanksgiving we had this spectacular blowout of an argument.
You know those arguments you get into which start off innocently enough:
“Could you pay attention to the directions so we don’t get lost?”
“I don’t know. COULD YOU EVER MANAGE TO INTERACT WITH HUMAN BEINGS ON A BASE LEVEL THAT DOESN’T MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A FUCKING SHITHEEL?”
Surprisingly enough, I was the one with the mild shot across the bow and he was the one reducing me to splinters. So it turned into us trading blows for the sole purpose of cutting the deepest. He totally won, which sucked. Since then we’ve made amends and this will be our first test run of our not being dicks in each other’s presence since Thanksgiving. I’m anxious to see how it goes, though I’m pretty sure it’ll be fine.

Kradamour, I remember being able to feel Sauli’s presence so well. I still can’t believe that I have sat and watched Sauli and Katri’s video blog in Finnish, never looking at the translations. And I have done that more than once and enjoyed it! He glows with such a joy of life.

adamland, thank you for that post…I have always regretted not saving that blogpage before it disappeared.
I have two sons, also about 5 years apart, and I could totally put myself into that car and hear Adam and Neil going at it.
In Paris, when Neil was being such a prick (excuse me, but no other word would work), it made me able to just shake my head, having a pretty good idea what it must have been like for him to be working for his older brother.
And when Neil lost the meet and greet photos, the memory of that blogpage is what kept me from wanting him to be struck by lightning, because I can imagine all too well the conversation where Neil had to tell Adam that he had deleted the photos. It was doubtless not pretty.

I found it sometimes earlier (I followed Adam events’ links), it was the stage with a capacity of 10 000. There were two stages bigger than that. I wish there was live stream, because the timing is ok for me (2pm), but I guess not

I tried to find that info about stages again, but couldn’t… It was about two weeks ago I did it. Let’s hope we’ll get vid / televised later!

Many thanks to cwm, rs, adamland and all the others for sharing details of Adam’s love life! It was interesting to read about Cheeks, also how you all “discovered” Sauli’s existence. I have googled Cheeks and Drake sometimes earlier to see what they look like and seen one Cheeks’ vid (Lady Gaga’s song/Madonna/Adam), but I haven’t found info when they were together. So Adam was quite young when he was with Cheeks… Before that was his “wild” period in Europe I think?

Adam and Sauli’s story has been much easier to find, because Finnish papers have written so much about them. So after I “found” Adam, I searched for the details… A picture of them the night they met at the bar was taken by some ordinary person and sold to the press, that’s how it goes here. And I remember finding all those photos from Disneyland, LA, Bora Bora etc. I guess Sauli was staying at Adam’s house when he was in LA, not hotel… But I am not sure when he finally “moved” there, was it in summer 2011 or was it already earlier in spring.

I laugh when I hear our relatives trying to tell us Adam news… Yesterday my mom stopped by for a coffee and told she had seen a picture of Adam coming from a holiday with blond hair! I said mom that’s old news, he is silver now Buhaha, mom is secretly berting…

OMG that photo Adam + Elvis! I have seen the resemblance before but those pictures really showed it! Same kind of nose, lips…

Now off for the outdoors, sunshine, late morning walk & swim. Summer came back this week – it’s been warmer and sunnier this week than most of the summer!

Thanks, Kradamour. It just dawned on my that one of the reasons I love this site so much is not just because of AFL, but because of all the other stuff I learn that keeps me somewhat in tune with what’s happening in the world these days.

The other night I was at an Elvis concert with a young couple in their late twenties and we had a great chat about the music biz today ( the guy is in a local band) and it was because of all the stuff on here that I could talk to them.

Also, eywflyer I keep meaning to say thank you to you for one of the cleanest, best- looking, easiest to navigate forums I have ever come across.

As far as I’m concerned, The Laces and The Zebra Pants are tied the winners. With the GN blue side paneled pants taking a close second. IMHO.

Just did some research. The Des Moines pants for sure are not the One Pants. The One pants were a solid dark blue. The No Boundaries Pants are a serious contender for the Des Moines Pants. The videos of No Boundaries suck though, but, from what I could see, it’s a definite maybe.
