My take if Adam does get a job on idol. I think it would more be to replace Jimmy Iovine as mentor. I think Jimmy said he wouldn’t be doing that job anymore. I hope…fingers crossed.. Idol is great exposure. I think Reese was speculating that Adam could be the XFactor host to replace Steve Jones. That would be great too. Anything to have him back regularly on my tv again.
I think Adam replacing Jimmy Iovine in a mentor role would be perfect for Adam and the show.

What does this mean? Latin? Or what?
LadyNorth – there is, unfortunately, a ugly contingent of Adam’s fandom who are quite delusional and negative, who believe that Adam and Tommy Joe Ratliff are secretly lovers (“Adommy”) and that Sauli’s and Adam’s relationship is “fake.” They worship Tommy and their “Adommy” fantasies. They genuinely dislike Sauli and tweet lots of hateful things about him because they can’t let go of their Adommy delusions and accept the reality that Adam is in love with Sauli and is only good friends with Tommy.
The general consensus is that Adam wandered into one or more of their twitter feeds (probably the queen bee’s and some of her minions) and was disturbed by what he saw being said about Sauli. Which is sad.
It’s one thing to enjoy talking about your shipping fantasies. It’s a whole nother thing to use those fantasies to spread poison and hate about the very real boyfriend of the person you supposedly stan. It’s disgusting, really.
The good news is that Adam appears to have now blocked the queen bee of the Adommy crays (YAY!), so that sends a pretty strong message. Good for him.
It means music soothes the savage beast.
Now why did he tweet it? Who knows?!!!

That sounds cuckoo in a very bad way… Out of the reality? Yes fantasies are one thing but doing it in public in a negative way is something else. They don’t sound like Adam’s true fans if they hurt his feelings like that.

No, they’re definitely not true Adam fans, LadyNorth. They adore Tommy and are true fans of their Adommy fantasy, a fantasy which bears no relationship to reality. And they openly denigrate Adam for the personal choices he has made, for the way he now lives his life, and for the things he now says about how happy he is in his personal life – all because he’s living and loving openly with Sauli rather than with Tommy.
Can you tell they piss me off? Hah. Yeah, they piss me off.
Maybe they pissed Adam off too, and that’s why he tweeted the Latin phrase – because he had to listen to some music to calm down and re-focus on the positive. Maybe. It’s my current theory.

He allows us so much access into his private life, he seems really to want and need that connection in contexts beyond the stage, and we are so fortunate. Catching up…Ron, I loved your photos last night! The more so because my younger son is constantly told how much he looks like me…he always fought that, but a few months ago he found my high school graduation photo…even I was astounded by the resemblance. Genetics is powerful stuff.
Ask any teacher who watches parents walk through the door and can almost always identify which student they belong to!

I did not like the hair at first…too brassy. Then he toned it down with the chrome/ash/platinum…looked very nice at the airport and at the radio show. But now I don’t care for it as much in that picture at the mall. Looks dried up & the color is changing. I used to dye my hair blonde for years so I know all the changes that can happen. Washing your hair changes it if you don’t use the right shampoo.
But who am I…nobody!!!
eta: am really bored about the Adommy fan fiction and sorry Adam goes there although I might too if I was him. Tempting. But I get bored easily. Just finished reading 50 Shades of Grey. Really a stupid book IMO. Boring, nothing I haven’t ever read before in most romance novels. Don’t get the fascination for it.
I also saw a little while ago that Jimmy Iovine was likely leaving, in an article about the ganeral exodus from Idol, almost a clean slate. Agree that Adam would fill that role so well! And it is less tacky than judging. Hope it is true.
Someone upthread mentioned Adam and Sauli’s OOFTA tats. I had forgotten that piece of foolishness…a tat is pretty much forever. A Scandinavian exclamation? On a highly visible tat? Really?! Way too impulsive, IMHO.

I wasn’t here this past week to chime in on the discussion regarding Adam’s new hair color. I have to admit that I am not liking it and still have not been able to warm up to it. The silver (some pics better than others) is a tad bit better than the blond he began with, but I still feel that dark hair is so much better suited for his overall appearance. I’m sure he will eventually go back to it. I’m just hoping for sooner rather than later….

I don’t mind the Oofta tat as much as the key. Just too big & doesn’t go well with the others. Actually neither the eye of horus, infinity or key mesh. But a talented artist could somehow link them together. Yes, more tatoos but maybe something light and airy to connect.
The only thing about filling Iovine’s role is that Adam might not sing on the show! God I want the world to hear that voice.
And to add from Adam’s tweets makeup is back! I knew that would happen and that with Adam the showman it’s in his blood! I am very happy about this although I know many peeps don’t like it. But I think now he knows when & where to wear it. Adam is glam & glitter through & through forever IMO.
We need more and better photos before we can really evaluate the hair, I think, but even Adam’s notoriously amazing hair will take a beating from this. From natural ginger to almost black…various highlights…then stripped out, then colored/bleached/whatever…
One of my sons’ girlfriends, a gorgeous natural blond, was moving to another city/school district and impulsively colored her hair red. She hated it and two days later colored it black. It was a disaster. As a going away present I took her to my stylist to have it undone. It took 5 hours and three of the best stylists in the city, plus hundreds of dollars, to undo what she had done and restore a measure of hair health.
Adam’s hair is short, not her shoulder-length, and that makes it much less catastrophic, but of course one option is always (gah!) to shave it off and start over…

So, stop me if I have told you the story about oofta already. It is the Finnish version of oy vey which is Yiddish for Oh My. It something you murmur when you do something silly or something surprises you in a not necessarily pleasant way. Nothing too big or too serious. I was having dinner one night a few months ago with a brilliant older man who prides himself on being the authority of arcane items and he was trying to stump the table with the word oofta. You can imagine his shock when little ole me was able to give him the definition. HAH!!!!

Oh, and about the hair. I really need to see him with it moving, and singing, and talking before I know the real impact. In pictures I don’t find it as exciting as the black. Could someone remind me of the time difference between here and Japan and if there will be dinner served at a decent hour. Of course when it comes to Adam a decent hour is pretty much 24 hours a day.

I have the time down pat on this trip. Japan is 13 hours ahead of us so right now it’s approximately 1035pm Japan time. Not sure if any dinner at these performances. Was mentioned no cameras or videos allowed. But we know we will get something from his fans there!

Oofta, or oofda, is heard around here, and more in northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, and Minnesota. I’ve seen it in several variations on personalized licenses plates too. I just saw it the other day as “uuvduh”. Probably because every other variation or phonetic spelling had been taken already.
