ron, I am so glad you are enjoying the little gift. The symbol is a hamsa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamsa). It means “five” in Arabic and it stands for a hand held up against the evil eye. So it is a symbol of protection. I think that there was also another symbol on the hand in the middle, but I don’t remember what it was. If you describe it to be, or email me (cher, northernspirit, and TLKC have my address) I will try and let you know if there is more meaning to it. By the way, when I had my meet and greet with Adam I gave him a hamsa as a gift, he has one hanging from the rear view mirror in his car, and he wore one on a chain around his neck during GNT. So you are in good company.
p.s. I have had a silver hamsa keychain for over 40 years, since I came here and have never lost it. I won’t get into the close calls that I have had living here. That must mean something.

Have you seen this fantastic TALC multi camera video of AOBTD from the 12th? It was the night of my second show and he was so funny at the end of the sing-along with his vocal acrobatics that nobody could try to do. One of the highlights of the night. And of course, the torn pants….

There must be some significance to that! I’ll hold onto mine during my doctor’s appointment later today. I had my yearly physical nearly a month ago. The very next day, “Ron, your blood work results are back. Doctor would like to see you”. Hmmm. That’s a first but there’s always a first time for everything. Receptionist was quick to add that there’s “no rush”. I guess not since I’ve waited over 3 weeks to find out how much longer I have to live.
I’ve decided not to go to the Streisand concert. Ticket price range with tax is $106.75 to $528.50! It’s at the same venue where I saw her 6 years ago and I was in the “cheap seats” section. It was so high up, there were oxygen masks attached to the back of each chair. From where I was sitting, Barbra appeared to be about 6 inches tall. I vowed back then that if I ever saw her again, I would get much better … therefore more expensive … seats.
I think it would be irresponsible of me to buy a ticket for this when I’ve yet to get my Passport! I think it’s a much better idea to give myself the opportunity, at least afford myself the possibility, to spend a lot of time with all of you at an Adam concert than 2 hours in a chair watching Barbra.
I don’t think she’ll miss me.

LadyNorth: Well, this is embarrassing: when I first started posting I had NO idea this would become a regular thing, so I thought username?? quick, something pretty, something that makes me feel good, and it was turquoisewaters. And then much later when I wanted an avatar, it had to go with the name, so I literally googled “turquoise waters images”and picked the nicest picture the search returned. — That’s the truth, wish I had a deep and inspiring message embedded somewhere, but nope. By now I got so used to it that it feels weird to change. Oh, I forgot. Change is good. Maybe I’ll reconsider. One day.
Thanks LadyNorth. . I really have fun writing. It’s cathartic in a way. I’ve never journalled, or written anything else before discovering blogging. My brother is a published poet and writer, and now teaches English in China. He missed his calling as a stand-up comic, he is so hilarious, and not just in a family context. My cousin is a real, as in professional, writer; New Yorker, NY Times, Conde Nast Travel, Novels, etc.

Trying out a new Avatar. Sunset at the Tel Aviv beach. Can you see the sailboat crossing the sun or is it too small? Might try out some of the seabirds I photographed on the cruise. Bear with me while I experiment.

I might change mine back in a day or two. I become completely disoriented when everybody starts changing avatars. Although: cartwheels on the beach are just about the happiest thing I can think of. I still do them even though I will be right there with HKFan (Hi there!) in age within a couple of months. And there is still some turquoise water in the background.

Mils, writing can be very fun – or therapeutic. You certainly seem to have genes… I like to write and have done it different ways and occasions during my life, but to do it here I should first write it in Finnish and then translate – and the result would be very flat because I wouldn’t know all the beautiful or delicious words.
OH, it already went to the second photo and I see that it is too dark. It is an amazing shot of a seagull that I took from the side of the ship, but not good as an avi. Lets try the sunset

OH, LadyNorth, Munch is much too depressing for Adam’s type of joyful insanty! I saw some versions of the Scream when I was in Oslo and I like his work very much, but it is sad. There was a huge Munch exhibit while we were in London and I conciously decided not to go because it was meant to be a very happy time with Adam and all my friends and I didn’t want to go and see depressing paintings.
Do you think the September Chat thread will have as its pic Adam as a blond? Should be immortalized? I’m happy to leave that choice up to a greater authority. lol
Well, I’m back from all my summer travels and have internet access again. I had a wonderful time camping and hiking in the Colorado mountains with my husband. I had no access to my Adam CD’s in Colorado, but kept a number of Trespassing songs running through my head to keep me going on the more grueling climbs up the mountains. My husband is a faster hiker than me, so at least I had Adam to keep me company while I was breathing heavily(!).
I thought things would be quiet this week and that I could catch up on the blog and the videos from the last 5 concerts. Then Adam turns up blonde!!! The wolf hair was absolutely perfect..his best look ever. I had a funny feeling that look was too good to be true. The picture he tweeted is not at all flattering. I love his hair dark, but this color may be okay in normal lighting. I’d really like to see what he looks like with his natural color hair. Trust our boy to surprise us and keep us talking when we least expect it. I too love his crazy ass!
As for avatars, I tried to register again today and they keep saying there is another mmm222 on wordpress. I think that may be me from when I was posting at mj’s, but none of my passwords work. So I may need to go without an avatar or possibly make a minor change in my name to get them to accept it. Sigh! I feel like I’m missing out on all the avatar fun.
Perhaps he won’t be blond by September!
