The calm after the end of QAL in February didn’t last long – thank the universe – and the roll-out to TOH appears nicely underway. We had the Sunrise/AU interview on 3/18, followed by the MiniMTV one on 3/20, the Hunger Mag major Q&A (with spectacular pics by Rankin) on 3/24, Attitude Mag’s great article (sold-out, of course), ending up with the iHeart Red Carpet appearance. But the big news, of course, was the Ghost Town snippet and the interest it engendered. April looks to be even more interesting, with the single release on the 21st – good times ahead.

Adam Lambert will release his new single “Ghost Town”, which was co-produced by Max Martin, this Tuesday, April 21st at 12 midnight ET. [just after 11:59 PM Monday]

    nkd ITA regarding the women djs’ not so understated flirting with Adam. Loved Jayn’s interview from ALICE. Do you remember how wonderful their very first interview was 5 years ago during the Idol tour? They commiserated regarding their goth looks. Totally “got” each other. I’m happy she got his take on the other GT in such a wonderfully humorous way.

    It is interesting that they decided to provide an immediate download of GT when pre-ordering the album. Wouldn’t that negatively impact single sales????? I also think that could be positively impacting album sales.

    Got my “Attitude” in the mail last Friday. Thought I was getting two but I guess not. I am getting very bold in my old age. I have it laying out in plan site even with a house full of out of town guests. I caught every single one of them flipping through it. Laugh

    leoblueeys I totally understand your concern. I think it was #1 on itune pop for a little while. I have to keep telling myself we are in a “bubble” here. It surges at the beginning because most of us are immediately buying the single. But it’s not even out there to the general public yet. That will be the test. Once (hopefully) radio stations pick it up, play it and have it requested and liked by the listeners it will go back up. Maybe the Ellen show will help?

    But it has to be sustained on the charts for a bit. The label might have to release something else from the album quick if it drops considerably. That’s what happens to most artists these days. Even the top guns like Katy Perry & Taylor Swift.

    Sheesh I hate having to consider all this stuff. It’s a music mess in this day & age.

    Just checked I-tunes again and GT is still at 14 on pop, but has fallen to 41 on the overall. It is sustaining at 1 on pop and 5 on overall. I think one thing that is happening is that people are buying the album which includes the single! I really hope and pray that more and more radio stations start playing it and as people hear it they will buy it on i-tunes. I want this so much for Adam, he truely deserves this, he is one of the few singers out there today that REALLY can sing.

    Woke up with GT on my brain, no surprise considering how many times I listened to it yesterday ROTFL

    I love all the great reviews, especially from radio stations, and I hope that that will signify future radio play. Wouldn’t it be great if I heard it on the radio here Fingers Crossed

    Cait, thanks for sharing your response to the song. Adam was hoping that it would touch listeners personally and you expressed that so beautifully. I really love the bridge where he lets his voice fly free (one reviewer said not enough, lol) and he and says that no matter what, he has his song. It is Adam’s truth, isn’t it?

    Good news!!! The first two radio station in Germany played GhostTown this morning. We already got a bit worried. The album is only digital copy pre-order on amazon. No physical CD Frown Hope that will change.

    Only guessing here but 1000 on Spotify first day probably is pretty good. Most people haven’t heard the song yet. TPTB will be looking for a gradual build as more people hear the song.

    asifclueless: I am pretty sure that the single counts as a single sale, period. A CD pre-sell or sale doesn’t impact the sales of the first single. Going forward, they will probably issue a radio edit of the next single so that we can buy that it separately from the CD.

    Lol, I have had GT on repeat on spotify since it came out here at midnight… Well on repeat when I can listen. Busy day today. The more I listen the more I am addicted. After youtube the spotify premium version best quality sound almost dropped me to the floor, sound was great, so massive!

    cait I loved your personal description of what GT meant to you, thank you for that. Hearing other people’s interpretations opens the song more and more to me!

    Yes, streaming means listening the song on spotify (unless you dl it for offline use, at least premium has that possibility) or watching a youtube vid of it. What I dont know is that if I have the song on repeat, does it count every round…
