The calm after the end of QAL in February didn’t last long – thank the universe – and the roll-out to TOH appears nicely underway. We had the Sunrise/AU interview on 3/18, followed by the MiniMTV one on 3/20, the Hunger Mag major Q&A (with spectacular pics by Rankin) on 3/24, Attitude Mag’s great article (sold-out, of course), ending up with the iHeart Red Carpet appearance. But the big news, of course, was the Ghost Town snippet and the interest it engendered. April looks to be even more interesting, with the single release on the 21st – good times ahead.

Adam Lambert will release his new single “Ghost Town”, which was co-produced by Max Martin, this Tuesday, April 21st at 12 midnight ET. [just after 11:59 PM Monday]

    What a day. Lucky me that I am on vacation. I couldnt have concentrated on work, at least not much.

    I have read a few comments here, on FB and Twitter that ppl like but not love the song. Its ok, it has to be that way. Different Glamberts means different taste and opinions. Its good that way. So I hope that everyone is saying on any plattform what they want and dont get crushed by the over-the-top-Glamberts.

    So what I now say/write/flail is my opinion Smile

    The first half of the day I just listened to the song as a whole product, not going into sound or lyric, just letting it flow through me. I connected right away with it. The complexity, the variety, it pulled me in, wanting to discover every layer.
    After that I just concentrated on the sound. The first part – acoustic guitar, oh yeah pls more of it. Put right away the thought of an acoustic version of GhostTown in my head with guitar all through the song. Boy would I love something like that. Can already hear it in my head.
    The more upbeat part – it still took me by surprise even though I knew it was in there. I wonder what ppl think about it, how ppl will react to it if they here it without being told about it. The upbeat sound makes me wanna dance through the day, put that whistle tune on top of it and it gets to another lvl for me. Cant sit still, always moving. Love it.
    The middle part with acoutic guitar again and the more electrionc part ( reminds me a bit of his first album FYE ) there is always something surprising in it, doesnt let you be just “comfortable” listening to it but really listening to it with an open ear and mind ( I hope that makes sense )
    Next to an acoustic version I would love just having the melody/sound without lyrics. So every part would be really “there”

    Next part – the lyrics. Oh man, first few listenings just to the lyrics. It took me way way back into teenage years, punching me right in the gut, leaving me with open wounds and memories again. Memories of lonliness and pain, deep-cutting despair with no way out, till nothing is left but fighting for my place in life or giving them the satisfaction of victory.
    They are so deep, dark and painful. Even though they really cut me deep I love them, maybe because I have this connection, found this connection to them…Even if its painful to think about this time. It made me who I am, made me stronger, getting through hurt and insecurities…Its me who I have become because of it…

    Putting the lyrics and sound together…for me one killer song, that doesnt let me go again. Emotional deep and also on the surface…

    Cant wait to see the actual music vid.

    Because of Soshanna I pre-ordered the deluxe album from iTunes. I was going to wait until it came out.
    I would rec to go ahead and pre-order because they won’t charge you till the album drops. You can also cancel later.

    Just went to I-Tunes chart. GT is dropping on pop and overall!! I don’t understand this. This is an amazing song! Hopefully it will pick back up tonight. I was hoping for at least #1 on i-tunes pop! It is sitting at 14 on pop and 40 on the overall. The album is doing well though. But I know that these singles have got to move!! Hopefully once he does some TV appearances and radio starts playing it, it will pick back up and get to where it needs to be. It kind of worries me though. Any one have any thoughts on this?

    Lol. Ghost Town is now officially available in mainland Europe as well, but in the Dutch itunes I can’t find the clean version. Seems only the explicit version is for sale here. Guess the grandkids here heared the f-word so often anyway they don’t have to be protected for this.

    Maybe one of the reasons Adam likes Amsterdam…
