The calm after the end of QAL in February didn’t last long – thank the universe – and the roll-out to TOH appears nicely underway. We had the Sunrise/AU interview on 3/18, followed by the MiniMTV one on 3/20, the Hunger Mag major Q&A (with spectacular pics by Rankin) on 3/24, Attitude Mag’s great article (sold-out, of course), ending up with the iHeart Red Carpet appearance. But the big news, of course, was the Ghost Town snippet and the interest it engendered. April looks to be even more interesting, with the single release on the 21st – good times ahead.

I have a bunch of random thoughts:
First, my deepest condolences to our cwm . Thoughts and hugs to you at this difficult time.
Now for other blog-worthy stuff:
Quentingate last night. YIKES. I reallly like him. All that pitchy crap that Harry spouts just isn’t heard by me that much at home. I love his voice, his style, his fearlessness. Should he have kept his emotions in check? Probably. He’s young and was feeling it.
I honestly think that Harry had a paternal knee-jerk reaction and lectured him like he would one of his own kids, who are Quentin’s age. JLo and Keith’s kids are younger, Ryan has none, so Harry sounded exactly like ME and what I was thinking, however, he should have had a better filter as well. I also think that Ryan’s comments later about being afraid that it was going to get physical were super wrong.
I loved Quentin’s outfits. Just loved them, he has such stage presence and is fearless about expressing himself. That mesh shirt, gawd, I could just picture Adam in that for Queen or his own tour, Lawd have mercy, and did ya’all notice that skirt he wore over pants?? Looked familiar…
And, that Billboard article. Sheesh!!! NONE of the articles from UK or elsewhere have “the gay” in their headlines, none. They all talk music and art and his good looks and his killer voice. But USA articles are still with the gay meme . OY Vay!!!
And a question: Is the release on the night of the 20th at midnight or at midnight on the 21st late night on 21st??

Can’t figure out the release date but as I previously posted I’m not staying up so it doesn’t matter much to me. Maybe we’ll hear it ahead of time anyway.

mils, wanted to mention I thought Quentin’s voice was good last night but his movements…or lack of movements on “Are you Gonna Go My Way” were boring. He should have had eliminated contestant Quaseem’s moves on that one.

Then again, remember Adam saying that he would have crumbled under the pressure has he participated at American Idol at a much younger age ? Quentin is only 21 years old…

I tend to be harsher on kids that are my favorites… And Harry and Quentin are both from New Orleans so maybe deep in his heart he is rooting for Quentin and was kind of disappointed when Quentin used the word “whole” … in “This whole thing is wack”…
but still, Harry unfortunately did not stop where he could have stopped commenting and I totally agree with your comments on Ryan Seacrest…

I loved some of those old songs, American Pie, I can remember singing it on top of my lungs when it came on the radio. And all the stupid songs that made no sense, but you could sing the words because you could hear them and there werent many. Splish Splash I was takin a bath. Tutti Frutti. Purple People Eater. Mony Mony, Ride your Pony, really??!! One of my favorite albums was Eddie Cochran, and Summertime Blues. Anyhow, I hope Ghost Town is something to sing along with, I think thats what helps sell songs, and play on the radio, a sing along song that people want to hear as they are driving. It seems to sound that way so far, My heart is a Ghost Town, I can sing that.

This whole iTunes thing is so annoying. iTunes charts don’t matter. Billboard matters and BB counts all of the pre-sale figures in the week a song/album is released.
The label gets the pre-sale figures and they are the most important people right now. If the pre-sales are down, they will wonder just how much promo they should do.
Do what you have always done.

Regardless of what iTunes does after the release date, the pre-sale figures are available beforehand and the label will be looking at them.
